That’s exactly what this is – it’s spicy, but not overpoweringly so. The rich, sesame nutty soup is top-notch tasty. Just like in actual tantanmen, you have minced pork (instead of sliced pork) and crunchy bok choy for toppings.”

Maruchan Umakara Tantanmen – Japan
Detail of the side panels (click to enlarge). Contains pork and fish. To prepare, fill to line with boiling water and dry sachet with the chunky bits. Cover for 5 minutes. Add in remaining sachets. Finally, stir and enjoy!

Finished (click to enlarge). Added black sesame seed, spring onion, and shichimi. Noodles are thick with a nice little tooth.
