You might be saying ‘gosh, you’re reviewing a lot of Sau Tao stuff!’ Well, yes I am – as I have a lot of different varieties in a couple boxes in our bedroom currently. I’m trying to review things that are big to shrink things down so they’ll fit in the hampers.

Up until the last couple of years, I avoided abalone stuff as the first couple of times I tried, I didn’t like it. But that was over a decade prior and now I quite enjoy it. Let’s see how this one fares.

Detail of the back of the package (click to enlarge). Contains shrimp. To prepare, boil ho fan in 600ml water for 3 minutes. Addd in sachet contents. Finally, stir and enjoy!

Ho Fan noodles.

A dry soup base sachet.

A wet sachet of sauce.

Finished (click to enlarge). Added chicken baked with Himalayan salt, Thai basil, spring onion, and shichimi. Ho Fan was just perfect on the chew and a massive quantity. The broth was wonderful as well, with a very good oiliness and great strength of flavor. The hits just keep coming from Sau Tao – very good. 4.5 out of 5.0 stars.  UPC bar code 08730386181.
