Okay before you start swinging your fists around and marching in the street screaming ‘these aren’t instant noodles,’ Well, for the instant noodles version of this, go to the last review. These are potato chips infused the the same seasoning! Sounds good to me – here’s a little about black pepper crab from Wikipedia –
Black pepper crab is one of the two most popular[citation needed] ways that crab is served in Singaporean cuisine. It is made with hard-shell crabs, and fried with black pepper. Unlike the other popular chilli dish, it is not cooked in a sauce and therefore has a dry consistency. It is becoming very popular to mix the pepper crab with a fresh jackfruit sauce.
The creation of Singapore’s black pepper crab is attributed to Long Beach Seafood Restaurant in 1959.[1]
Alright then! Let’s check out these chips!
Nissin Cup Noodles Potato Chips Black Pepper Crab Flavour – Singapore
Here’s the back of the package (click to enlarge). Looks to be meat free but check for yourself. To prepare, open bag. Place hand in bag and grasp one or more chips. Finally, withdraw hand and place chip(s) in mouth. Masticate, consume, enjoy!
A single chip. Notice the ridges!
Finished (click to enlarge). The chips are of a standard size one would expect. They are indeed ridges, which I suppose gives you more potato that a flat chip. The flavoring mirrors that of the Nissin Cup Noodles Black Pepper Crab variety very nicely, although of course there’s a potato taste in there that isn’t present in the Cup Noodles. However, it works very well and they’re tasty! Spicy and crabby. For a snack, I give these a 4.5 out of 5.0 stars. EAN bar code 8888279900021.
