#606: Six Fortune Instant U-Dong Noodles

Here’s another from Michelle L. of New York. I have liked pretty much everything I’ve had that Six Fortune makes – hopefully this is no exception. U-Dong is a thicker noodle and it mentions it’s got “udon flavour,” which I would imagine will be seafood.

I thought this was interesting – I’ve never seen anything calling the veggies frying seasoning.

Here’s the packet contents. Quite a bit of that powder.

Finally, the noodle block. This is a rather large one and they’re fried noodles. Looks like they’ll be nice and thick as well.

The noodles are as advertised – thick and chewy and very nice quality. The broth is spicy and seafood flavored. The veggies were colorful, plentiful, and tasty. All in all this was very good – 4.0 out of 5.0 stars! UPC bar code 079763251150.

#336: Six Fortune Instant Noodles With Soup

Here’s a Six Fortune – I think this is their flagship or ‘original’ flavor. Anyways, hope its good!

Hey its all soup base! From top going clockwise: soybean paste, powder soup base, veggies.

The all look so interesting…

Click image to enlarge. Here it is with two eggs boiled with the noodles. I really liked it – it had a nice amount of ginger flavor going on. A lot of noodles in this one. All said and done, a deep and robust flavor. 3.5 out of 5.0 stars!

#245: Six Fortune Instant Broad Noodles With Soup Base

Six Fortune stuff is usually pretty good but I haven’t seen a lot of it around. So let’s give it a try!

Soybean paste liquid soup and veggies.

Pretty thick paste – should be good broth!

Click image to enlarge. So I added an egg whilst the noodles were boiling.  The noodles are exquisite – chewy and broad – not quite udon but between udon and ramen. The egg infused broth was also quite good – a little touch spicy and soy. The veggies were just the right amount. I am surprised at how much I truly enjoyed these noodles. I’m giving it a 3.75 out of 5.0 stars.

So couldn’t find anything by Sin Fortune but did find this – a video of people in Canada eating Six Fortune brand lobster flavored chips and sharing them with assorted pets.

#219: Six Fortune Tom Yam Instant Soup Noodle (Thai Style Sour and Chili Flavor)

Tom Yam time? Let’s do it.

Who knows how old this pack of noodles is – was got from a seedy little asian grocery on Aurora. The liquid packet was pretty much solid.

It had turned to a gritty pasty stuff.

Click image to enlarge. An egg was tossed in with the noodles as the boiled. So works for me – was hot flavor and lemon flavor which is typical for tom yam instant noodles. The noodles weren’t bad. Nothing too crazy here. I’m giving it 2.75 out of 5.0 – okay stuff.

#141: Six Fortune Seafood Flavor Instant Noodles

Got this package at a very weird little asian grocery. Very weird. The place was dirty, in extreme disarray and after we left we saw a cop pop in. Most of the signs were in sharpie on cardboard and on the way in instead of a mat or carpet, cardboard was used. Very ghetto. But I haven’t seen this stuff elsewhere so hooray!

Paste and dry…

The paste was thick and was nice to see that the veggies included the mystery circles I like to think are pieces of dehydrated mini radish.

The finished product (click image to enlarge). The noodles were really lame; spongy and almost soggy and dilapidated. The broth was a little hot with a seafood finish and kind of thick. The vegetable were a little out of the ordinary with a lot of peppers going on. All said and done I wasn’t very impressed and the most interesting thing here was the packaging; I really liked that. I’m giving it a generous 2.5 out of 5.0 stars.
