Here’s one from Japan Ramen Box – a subscription service out of Japan. Here’s what they have to say about this variety – ‘The curry udon version of Maruchan’s popular noodle series!
Enjoy the natural texture and raw flavors of noodles that have gone through the “raw noodle manufacturing method” to ensure they’re as tasty and delicious and possible! The curry is flavorful and has an added sweetness from onion and pork seasonings, and the smooth, rich noodles only help to bring it all together!’
It’s curry time! Let’s give it a try.

BoxFromJapan.com is a monthly subscription service – you get 4 neat and very unique bowls of ramen sent from Japan along with a few chopsticks and a little letter! Really awesome – I’ve not gotten any that I’ve reviewed before at this point which is really quite amazing! Today it’s a shiny gold ensconced tonkotsu. Let’s have a look!

Spring onion and a piece of dehydrated chashu pork.
Finished (click to enlarge). The noodles sported a good chewiness and premium gauge; not too thick, not too thin. The broth was a creamy thick tonkotsu which almost seemed a little chowdery to me – still very good. The pork hydrated very well. 4.25 out of 5.0 stars. JAN bar code 4901990334150.
Here’s another one that was sent to me by Javier over at Box From Japan – thanks! Box From Japan is a subscription service – you can get a box sent to you every month with some great noodles within! This one looks really fancy – the whole thing is shiny and gold! Let’s have a look inside!

Finished (click to enlarge). Added hard boiled egg. The noodles are absolutely excellent – nice and chewy but not tough. They’re perfectly hydrated and of a good, thick gauge. The broth is really good too – a soy sauce flavor with a little sweetness and a beautiful oiliness. The piece of seaweed is an excellent plus as well as the garnish pack which included pork, bamboo shoot and spring onion of which all were excellent. Here’s one I got early this year the MBS TV station sent to me after I did the God Of Patena TV show! Thanks again – hope to be on again someday! Let’s check it out!
Here’s the back of the package (click image to enlarge). Not sure if it contains meat. To prepare, boil 500ml of water. Add the noodle block and cook for three minutes. In a separate bowl, add the contents of the liquid sachet. After the three minutes of cooking, put the noodles and broth into the bowl, stir, and it’s done.
The noodle block.
The soup base sachet.
Has a nice scent.
Finished (click image to enlarge). Added hard boiled egg and pork I sauteed with a little garlic salt. The noodles were premium with a nice gauge and chewiness that was akin to fresh variants of store-bought fresh ramen noodles. The broth had a good saltiness, but not overly so. It had a rich depth in soy taste, but not overwhelming. 3.75 out of 5.0 stars.UPC bar code 4901990511001.
