#929: Vina Acecook Good Artificial Minced Pork Flavour Bean Vermicelli

Here’s the last of the ones my sister brought me back from Hawaii! Minced pork bean vermicelli… Sounds kind of interesting! A very dark day here – wet, cold and windy.

The back of the packaging (click image to enlarge).

The bean vermicelli block.

The powder seasoning packet.

Interesting flavor… Salty and… Not sure!

Seasoned oil.

Has a nice onion and meat kind of scent – should liven things up…

The veggies! I must say that Vina Acecook usually does pretty good with their veggies.

Here’s the veggie mixture – a decent amount and looks nice.

Finished (click image to enlarge). Added some ham that I minced with a little Huy Fong Sriracha chili sauce, some onions and some stir fry veggies. The noodles are decent – plentiful and not too hard to break by pursing the lips. Again as always, I recommend using a pair of kitchen scissors on these while still in the pot – just do a few snips and it’ll make a big difference. The broth is good – has a nice comfort food flavor and the veggies are plentiful and interesting. Good pack of bean vermicelli! 3.75 out of 5.0 stars. UPC bar code 8934563308117

I really like this – a pretty cool overview of Vina Acecook’s company.

I saw an advert in a magazine yesterday for some enormous fans – some 24 feet across! Thought they were pretty awesome – and then the name – Big Ass Fans! How rad! Anyways, here’s a little video story about Big Ass Fans and what they do. Check out the Big Ass Fans website here!

#917: Vina Acecook Good Abalone Chicken Soup Flavour Bean Vermicelli

Here’s another ones of the Good line from Vina Acecook. My sister brought this one back to me from Hawaii! Thanks!

Here’s the back of the package (click to enlarge).

Here’s the bean vermicelli block.

Powder seasoning.

A decent amount.

Seasoning oil.

Kind of an onion scent.

This one’s soup paste.

I detect some soy with my nose and maybe some sesame?

The veggies.

A nice herb scent.

Four packets – looks pretty cool!

Finished (click to enlarge). Added sweet onions, turkey breast, a little Urashima Sesame & Salt furikake and some Huy Fong Sriracha chili sauce. I used a pair of kitchen scissors and cut the noodles before eating. I know this is done with Korean cold noodle dishes such as naengmyeon, so I figure it’s fine here as well. The noodles are decent – not usually a big fan of bean thread but these are okay with me. The broth was not overly strong but had a nice flavor of chicken and abalone. 3.25 out of 5.0 stars. UPC bar code 8934563340117 .

#896: Vina Acecook Good Tomyum Kung Flavour Bean Vermicelli

Hey it’s a bag of Good! Right there between bad and excellent… Kind of a funny name – let’s check it out.

Here’s the sticker that was on the back.

Here’s the back of the package (click to enlarge)

The bean vermicelli.

Powder seasoning.

Interesting smell.

Here are the veggies!

A couple little pieces of kamaboko in there.

Seasoned oil.

Nice color.

Soup paste.

Dark and thick.

Finished (click image to enlarge). Added yellow onion, two fried eggs with Krazy Mixed Up Salt and Huy Fong Sriracha chili sauce and some green onions. The bean thread is good. I gotta say that for me, using a pair of scissors to shorten the length really makes a big difference in palatability in bean thread. The broth is nice – has a very strong citrus flavor and a nice heat that accompany a nice seafood taste. I liked this one – probably the best bean vermicelli I’ve tried yet! 3.5 out of 5.0 stars. UPC bar code 8934563309114

#869: Vina Acecook Good Bean Vermicelli Chicken Flavour

I’ve got to say, this is some of my favorite packaging. I really like the big drumstick in the picture and the old english exclaiming ‘good.’ I hope it’s good! I’d rather it be better than just good, but I think I’ll just wait and see.

The back of the package (click to enlarge).

The bean thread block.

The seasoning powder.

Salty and chinkenny.

The seasoned oil.

Smells good too.

The veggie packet!

Quite an ample supply of vegetable bits.

Finished (click image to enlarge). Added hard boiled egg, baked chicken, Krazy Mixed Up Salt and Huy Fong Sriracha hot chili sauce. The noodles are, well, pretty good. They break easily when you purse your lips. The broth is good. Has a great chicken flavor. Only issue is that it has a kind of sting to it – wish I had a better word. Not like the bite of a spicy pepper, but different. The veggies were wonderous. All in all I think this was pretty ‘good.’ I think bean thread is growing on me. 3.25 out of 5.0 stars. UPC bar code 8934563328115 .

#380: Assi Brand Pho Vietnamese Noodle Soup

So here’s some interesting stuff. It doesn’t say its any particular flavor other than ‘pho.’ Not beef or veggies or chicken. I’m going to guess beef. The picture looks kinda beefy.

Serious labeling here – paste soup, powder soup. Kind of makes my comments here pointless. On the obverse of the powder soup is the list of ingredients.  I don’t think I’ve ever seen that, nor have I see the measurements as on these.

The noodles are cool looking – very uniform. The paste was asking for a little taste – very spicy!

Click image to enlarge. Added two fried eggs and a pinch of Tony Chachere’s Creole Seasoning.  So this is some awesome stuff! The noodles have a nice freshness to them. They don’t seem like they’re fried. The broth and veggies are really really good – some spicy bit in there that have my tongue burning!!! Good quality going on here. 3.75 out of 5.0 stars.

#351: Nissin Top Ramen Picante Beef Flavor Ramen Noodle Soup

So today I opted for something different from Nissin – Top Ramen Picante Beef. Kind of funny; why don’t they make a teriyaki beef or a stir fry flavor over here? Anyways, here we go…

A single packet of flavor – rather non descript too.

Dark and slightly chunky powder.

Click image to enlarge. Added one hard boiled egg (sliced) and some kizami shoga (pickled ginger).  The noodles are your standard Top Ramen noodles. Tasty, industrial strength and relaxingly expected. The flavor was a little spicy actually and I enjoyed that. 3.0 out of 5.0 stars. Get it here. UPC bar code 070662010129.

For those keen on regurgitation, here’s some soup.

#348: Paldo Bowl Noodle Soup Kimchi Flavor

So here’s another one of these by Paldo. It shall be today’s breakfast/lunch.

One solitary packet of love.

Mount Kimchi Flavoring! Behold all of its glory!

Click image to enlarge. So I added a slice of oven roasted turkey breast lunch meat. So there are veggies – just in the bottom of the bowl on this one. The noodles sat for about 8 minutes and I thought that made them extra good. The broth was nice and spicy too, and the veggies were crisp. 3.5 out of 5.0 stars – a good lunch. Find it here.

These guys are easily scared by noodles.

This looks like good food!

#261: Vina Acecook Oh! Ricey Chicken Flavour Instant Phở Instant Rice Noodles

Oh! Ricey! Well this looks interesting… I have a way sore throat. drippy nose… I’m sick and it sucks. So some chicken phở should do the trick to make me feel a little better hopefully…

From top clockwise: rice noodles in handy tray, veggies, soup base, seasoned oil.

A nice colorful trio of flavors. I added an egg to the melange – what was nice was the little plastic tray was a nice place to put the egg shell for a second as I did up the eggs and noodles.

Click image to enlarge. So here’s the whole deal. The broth was superb – a little heat, a lot of chicken flavor. The veggies are ample and tasted good. The noodles were nice too.  After eating it I feel a little more relaxed and better. I’m giving it 3.75 out of 5.0 stars. Get it here.

#230: Lucky Me! Supreme Instant Mami Noodles with Free Crackers Artificial Chicken Flavor

Enjoy. Do it enjoy.

So here’s some chicken flavor bowl noodles hmm? Free crackers…

Base powder, some ‘I’m not sure’ and crackers…

Sitting on the instant noodles…

So yeah – crackers? Interesting that in the last couple reviews I’ve tried some new things – last it was a Koka that had coconut in it – weird…

Click image to enlarge. Not bad at all – nothing super special though. Tasted like chicken ramen but a little more like a noodle soup kind of thing going on here. The crackers tasted good too. After a few bites of it and a try of the crackers, I left it for my 5 year old boy to devour – which he did quickly. I’m giving it a 3.75 out of 5.0 stars – I like it, the kid likes it, we’re good here capiche?

#220: Wei Lih Good Good Eat Super Ramen Original Flavor

Freaking awesome! From the folks that brought Everybody Likes Good Good Eat snacks, we now have Good Good Eat Super Ramen!!! Can’t wait to try this!

So – seasoning powder and liquid powder.

So the question is, “now what?” See, there aren’t any instructions on how one prepares the Good Good Eat Super Ramen Original Flavor. So I put 1 3/4c water in a pot, boiled it, dropped in the noodles til almost done, added two eggs, stirred for a few seconds and added to the seasonings here. By doing that we were granted full access to….

This (click image to enlarge). So I’m figuring original flavor means either soy sauce or miso. I’m going with soy sauce since this stuff is from China. Anyways, I really liked it. The noodles were decent, the broth was flavorful and the packaging was awesome. 3.0 out of 5.0 stars!

Ramen Rater News – 10-02-2010

So we’ve been looking at many different little and big groceries around here. It is always fun to find a new one, but I think we’ve scoured the area and gotten to them all. So here’s a couple interesting things to look at. First…

So these were kind of cool – the kid on the package looks really ticked off! What was equally as funny is that there was a spicy mexican flavor where the kid has a moustache and a sombrero! Both tasty and politically incorrect!

So my son wanted to have some noodles – so I made the Nissin curry flavored Demae Ramen for him and drained the soup out. He’s enjoying them in the extreme. I must admit, this is pure 5.0 star tasty fare.

Anyways, nothing much new – been reviewing lots and lots of noodles!

Was surprised how quickly review 150 came after review 100!

That’s all for now!
