Today’s Father’s Day and me and the boy are going to have some noodles. He picked out this variety, of which I had two and hadn’t reviewed yet. He’s gonna have some kamaboko on his and I’m going to have some veggies in mine.

I’ve seen many times mentions of Kamaboko and Naruto in ramen dishes and looked all over for them. This last Saturday we went to Uwajimaya and I found both! Hah! First, let’s check out Kamaboko. It’s surimi, which comes in many ways – for example, imitation crab is one form of surimi.

Such a classic – almost as American as it is Japanese! Actually, this packet was made in California. Just like rival Nissin, Maruchan has a huge southern California factory. Here’s a re-review of this standard that probably everyone has had once in their lifetime.

I remember reviewing this one a while back up in Anacortes – got it and was really stoked as I’d never seen it before!
