Frank over at 5am Ramen sent me this in a box of varieties – thanks! He’s got some really premium stuff like this for sale – and he does guides and tours over in Japan as well! This a spicy dandan variety, so should be thick stuff! Let’s give it a try.
New Touch Spicy Dan Dan Noodle – Japan
Detail of the side panels (click to enlarge). Probably contains chicken and pork. To prepare add in clear sachet and boiling water to line. Cover 5 minutes. Add in remaining sachets. Finally, stir and enjoy!

Finished (click to enlarge). Added egg, pepper thread, scallion, chashu, and sesame seed. Noodle is thick and chewy. Wonderful! Broth is thick too – oily and sludgy and perfect, with little meaty bits as well. Really a wonderful bowl of noodles. 5.0 out of 5.0 stars. JAN bar code 4903088017129.
