Another shroomy one from James of Lakeside, California – thanks! The first one of these I reviewed I was very surprised by insofar as I actually liked it. I’m not a fungi (well, my wife thinks I am at least) and have never really been all in for mushrooms. She is though – bI have seen her devour them with such zeal; I feel kind of left out of the spore thing. But I digress; let’s see how it goes with a rice noodle version.

Detail of the side panels (click to enlarge). Looks to be meat free but check for yourself. To prepare, add all but the large sachet in and fill to line with boiling water and cover 3 minutes. Add in large sachet contents. Finally, stir and enjoy!

Finished (click to enlarge). Added Palermo Chili Sauce, sesame seed, coriander, and crushed red pepper. Noodle is that broad, flat rice noodle I’m not particularly fond of. Aside from that, it was the same as the one from the other day – oiliness on point, a savory flavor, lots of nice chunks of shiitake. All in all, pretty darn good. 4.25 out of 5.0 stars.
