Well, here we are folks. A few years ago, I tried Culley’s World’s Hottest Ramen Noodles 1.0. It’s funny; things that say ‘best ever’ and ‘greatest’ or ‘world’s’ often end up with a bit of disappointment. This delivers, and is an apt title. The 1.0 certainly was as such. This one as well. This transcends spiciness; it’s got Carolina Reaper and Ghost pepper mash in the wet sachet. I believe there’s reaper in the togarashi sachet as well. Indeed, some foreboding stuff going on here.

I got a message in late 2023 from Mr. Culley letting me know about the 2.0. He mentioned sending samples and I got an immediate lump in my throat. The first version really ran me over like a freight train… I should say that I’ve tried a wide range of extremely spicy instant noodle varieties, but only two that have been so staring that have really worked me over. After some mental preparing, I decided for this to be the first one I would actually review this year. So, on January 4th 2024, I cooked and consumed it. With that, I now share everything I can about this product. First and foremost – it’s beyond hot; it transcends heat. It’s mean. It’s relentless. While not containing any illicit drug, the fire in this is almost short term hallucinogenic.
I should note that I know there will be a lot of you wanting to do this one – it will be available in March of 2024 and when it is, I’ll share information on where you can get it. I want to personally thank Mr. Culley for selecting myself as one of the very first folks to experience his new product – really an honor! Let’s go.

Culley’s World’s Hottest Ramen Noodles 2.0 – New Zealand
Detail of the side panels (click to enlarge). Looks to be meat free but check for yourself. To prepare, add everything to a bowl except the clear sachet. Add 1 cup boiling water. Microwave for 1-2 minutes or until noodles are soft (I found 2 minutes at 1000W worked). Stir. Finally, garnish with togarashi and enjoy!

Finished (click to enlarge). Nothing added. This is the bowl I made and this is what I ate. I’ll say first thing that the noodles came out much better than the 1.0 version which I liked. They’re thin with a light chewiness. The flavor – bright and definitely the vegetables shine through here and the togarashi is a nice touch. When sampled in a rapid ingestion scenario, that goes away quickly as you are ensconced by the sheer power of the ingredients, specifically the Carolina Reaper and Ghost Pepper mashes inside that elongated sachet of doom. It’s hot at first, but then switches over to an all over sensation. I was vibrating; tingling – head to toe – like if your foot fell asleep and woke up. Once consumed, I felt like I was walking through a big weather event and trying to talk on the phone – every one of my senses was bombarded with what was going on internally. Bar none, this is the hottest thing I’ve tried to date. This isn’t for those who want to dip their toes into the world of spicy products. A popular ‘3x’ and ‘2x’ variety is considered to be spicy. This makes that seem like sugar water or cotton candy; safe as milk. If you are seeking the endorphin rush of this kind of thing, it delivers.
