Here’s another one I received from a University student in Taiwan – thanks again! She’s working on her Master’s thesis and wanted info from me on a few products and what I thought of them – an honor! Let’s check out this variety with a Korean influence.
Vedan Wei Wei Premium Korean Spicy Beef Instant Noodle – Taiwan

Here’s the back of the package (click to enlarge). Contains beef. To prepare, add everything but the large retort pouch to 500ml boiling water and cook 3 minutes. Add in retort pouch contents. Finally, stir and enjoy!

The noodle block.

A dry base sachet.

Powder with bits of vegetable.

Another dry base sachet.

Unsure – white pepper?

A large retort pou ch.

Rich color and lots of beef.

Finished (click to enlarge). Added spring onion and Salad Cosmo mung bean sprouts. The noodles were just plain weird here. I don’t know why, but they really did not feel right compared to the other varieties I’ve had in this premium range. The broth had a ramyun kind of taste with a decent kick of spiciness. The beef was of good quality, however was also just not quite right. I think the issue here might be that Koreans do Korean food best while Taiwanese do Taiwanese foods best. 1.0 out of 5.0 stars. EAN bar code 4710110232883.

Why Taiwan Matters: Small Island, Global Powerhouse
I don’t know much about this guy other than he’s pretty popular – does a lot of promo for Vedan.
