Re- Review: emart Ramen e Ramen White Broth Noodle Soup

I reviewed this one a little while back – was review #787. Use this link to see everything about it. By the way, emart has informed me that they have a new product that just launched – should be here soon! Can’t wait to review it!

Finished (click to enlarge). Added sweet onion, green beans, processed cheese, odeng, kimchi and Urashima Sesame & Salt furikake. Still as good as I remember – good noodles, great spiciness and good mussel and veggies. 5.0 out of 5.0 stars – delicious! UPC bar code 8801045525068 – get it here.

Wow this is really awesome and inventive!

Here’s a guy’s tour of emart. I thought it was kind of funny how he complained that they didn’t have enough American food. I guess that’s what happens when you’re in a foreign country! Man, I would love to check this place out – looks amazingly fun!

#787: emart Ramen e Ramen White Broth Noodle Soup

Today I received a big box full of instant noodles from South Korea! These are made by emart. If you can imagine a Korean version of Walmart, you’re on the right track – these are super huge superstores over there. Anyways, a fellow from emart contacted me about reviewing this new product of theirs and of course I said yes. They sent a box with some nice hats and 8 of these 6 pakcs – yep – 48 packages of noodles! Wow!

‘Here’s what the individual packs look like. It’s called Ramen e Ramen and it’s a white broth soup. Looks to be jalapeno and seafood flavored!

Here’s the back of the package (click image to enlarge).

The noodle block – a big one.

The seasoning powder.

A lot of powder! I tasted a little and it was really spicy!

The vegetable packet.

A nice variety. Not sure if there might be some seafoodies in there too.

Hooray for new hats!

Finished (click image to enlarge). I added a couple slices of jalapeno. The noodles are nice – not too chewy and very full. The broth is great – ultra spicy (I’d say the spiciest white broth I’ve tried yet) and the veggies aren’t too shabby either. I found quite a few bits of seafood in there too – gonna go with mussel since mussels are so prominent on the package. I must say I was wondering how much I would like this stuff as they did send 48 packs of it. Happily, I can say I really love it – great stuff! 5.0 out of 5.0 stars! A wonderfully hot and tasty white broth. UPC bar code 8801045525068 – get it here.

#442: Nongshim Kal Guk Soo Korean Style Noodle Soup

Okay so I reviewed Samyang’s Kalgugsu a long time ago and it said it was assorted clam flavored noodle soup. This one just says its Korean noodle soup, however its got mussels, anchovy, bonito, shrimp tuna and mushroom going on too. I wouldn’t call it assorted clam flavor this time around – more like assorted flavor flavor.

Veggies on the left, powder on the right.

Lots of stuff! So this one asked for 2 3/4 cups of water and to be cooked for six minutes!!!

Click image to enlarge. Added two eggs to the boiling noodles while cooking. So first off, the noodles are very nice – high in quality and chewiness. The broth was good and hearty and the veggies were plentiful. I liked the flavor and body of the meal, and rating it accordingly. 4.0 out of 5.0 stars.

#399: Paldo Spicy Seafood Flavor Noodle Soup Cup

Ah the fruits of the sea! I wonder if it’ll be a fishy spicy thing going on? I sure hope so…

One packet – I bet its full of angry red flavoring inside!

Yeah, that looks angry alright! The veggies were underneath the noodle block and there was dehydrated fish in there too!

Click image to enlarge. Looks angry! Reddish broth and noodles and lots of seaweed and bit of re hydrated fish… Smells fishy. First bite contained an almost broccoli tone. That lent itself to deep seaweed flavors. Noodles are good. Wow this is pretty spicy… The fish is interesting but it has no chewiness or flavor – everything is overwhelmed in the end by the spiciness. Then the seaweed comes back… Weird stuff… Much like a hot and spicy Neoguri… Found a chewy bit – clam or mussel perhaps. Interesting combination of flavors here and some odd textures. Kind of interesting. I’m going to give it 3.75 out of 5.0 stars. Get it here.

Compare to Nissin’s Seafood cup – look at all that stuff!

Re-Review: Nongshim Neoguri Udon Type Noodles Spicy Seafood Noodle Soup

So here’s a classic – Nongshim’s Neoguri. I haven’t had this in a few years so I suppose I’d better have some!

Seasoning powder on the left, veggies on the right.

Bright green veggies on the left, deep red powder on the right.

Boiling in the kettle.

Click image to enlarge. With a couple of eggs, yolk broken. So despite the eggs, this stuff packs a wallop of heat. The broth is spicy but has a very rich seafood flavor. The noodles got bigger and I would definitely consider them to be approaching udon size, but not as big as say Myojo’s Udon packs. The noodles are nice and chewy. I like the amount of vegetables too – lots of seaweed makes me happy with this bowl of noodles. I would’ve liked to have seen more seafood in the ingredients though; all I’m seeing is mussel. I do see sea tangle and seaweed which is a welcome sight though. I’m going to give this one 3.5 out of 5.0 stars. It’s pretty good but I feel left wanting something more. Get it here.

Here’s a commercial for Neoguri. As it turns out, neoguri is Korean for raccoon.

So here’s a weird music video. Enjoy the vids – this stuff uses 19 1/2 ounces of water so it’s a lot to eat!
