#2272: Nissin Demae Iccho Spicy Kimchi Pot Flavour Instant Noodle

Here’s one big bowl of noodles! I like these – they kind of remind me of what we have here in the US – Nissin makes a line called the ‘Souper Bowl’ and it’s big too. OF course, there aren’t any Black Garlic Tonkotsu or Kimchi Pot flavored ones here. I always wish there were, but tthe fact that every country has it’s own flavors is what I really love about reviewing, and since the USA is a country, we’ve got our own. Anyways, Spicy! Kimchi! A friend of mine sent me a jar of kimchi in the mail and I go t it yesterday! Perfect timing! Let’s check this one out!

Detail of the side panels (click to enlarge). Contains pork, chicken and fish. To prepare, add in the sachets marked with a 1 and fill to line with boiling water. Let steep for 3 minutes covered. Add in liquid sachet contents. Stir and enjoy!

The noodle block.

Powder soup base.

A lot of powder!

The vegetable sachet.

Looks like kimchi, spring onion and maybe some green beans and egg.

The liquid sachet.

A kimchi scented oily concoction.

Finished (click to enlarge). Added Salad Cosmo mung bean sprouts, spring onion, beef, hard boiled egg and kimchi. The noodles are plentiful and of decent quality. The broth does have a slightly spicy kimchi taste to them, however I’m not a super huge fan. The included bits are very good – the kimchi hydrated nicely and tasty as well. 3.5 out of 5.0 stars. EAN bar code 4897878120093.

#986: Paldo Jong-gah-jip Kimchi Ramen

Here’s one that was sent by Sungmin over at Paldo America – thank you! This is a new variety that just came out in South Korea. The name ‘Jong-gah-jip’ is of a well-known kimchi producer. Let’s give this a try!

Here’s the back of the package (click image to enlarge).

The noodle block.

The seasoning packet.

The powder is nice – salty and spicy, but not spicy in the extreme. Has a nice richness to it.

The vegetable packet.

A nice little variety.

We went to KS Mart yesterday. KS Mart is in the Lynnwood, Washington area on 172nd and 99.

It’s been a while since I’ve had any kimchi on hand, so it was time to get a jar! I’ve samples store-made varieties around this area and I would say my favorite’s made at KS Mart. Gotta put kimchi in kimchi ramyun, right?

Finished (click image to enlarge). Added kimchi, sweet onion, an egg and processed cheese. The noodles are your typical Paldo fare – nice amount and really tasty and wide. The broth is nice and rich with a strong flavor of gochujang and other seasonings. The veggies are good too. Good stuff! 4.0 out of 5.0 stars. UPC bar code 8809296881537.

Re-Review: Meet The Manufacturer: Paldo King Cup Kimchi Pot Stew Instant Noodle

Hey rad – a big cup of kimchi noodles! I’m a big fan of kimchi these days and hoping this is just what the doctor ordered today!

Side panels (click image to enlarge).

A nice looking noodle block.

Powder seasoning.

Lots of the red stuff!

Lots of veggies in the bottom.

I’m sure Korean folks who see this will say big deal, especially since these exist! But recently we got the big jar of kimchi! It takes up a lot of our fridge – and it’s worth it!

Finished (click image to enlarge). Added some kimchi and some roast beef with a touch of Krazy Mixed Up Salt. The noodles are of that nice soft and buttery type – I must say that in the varieties so far, it sure seems like Paldo varies the types of noodles it puts in its products quite a bit. The broth is great – salty, spicy and has that nice flavor of kimchi. The veggies are great too – re-hydrated very well. This is a great bowl of noodles! 4.0 out of 5.0 stars. #692: Samyang Savory Vegetable Flavor Assorted Vegetable Ramen

Here’s another one from Ramen Place! I’ve tried the cup version which just said 60 Ingredients, but it’s got to be the same thing here, just in a pack. Let’s give it a try!

Here’s the back of the package (click image to enlarge).

Here’s the noodle block – a big one.

Powder seasoning pack.

Lots of angry reddish powder! Grrr!!!

Vegetable pack – good sized too!

Loads of nice looking veggies!

Finished (click image to enlarge). I added some Bird’s Eye Stir Fry veggies, an egg which I boiled with the noodles, a little pinch of cheese and some Ajishima Kim Chi furikake! So starting with the noodles: chewy and very Korean. A slightly wider gauge than a regular instant noodle and a better quality noodle. The broth is great – a nice vegetable flavor and a good spiciness to it. The veggies were appropriately everywhere and re-hydrated nicely. I liked this one – and then I added all my stuff to it and it was even better! Good stuff – 3.75 out of 5.0 stars. UPC barcode 8801073110168 – get it here.

#657: Dragonfly Instant Noodles Onion Flavor

Another pack of Dragonfly brand noodles from China… Onion was great in a big bowl version – how will it be in a pack? Let’s see…

Here’s the back of the packaging (click image to enlarge).

Three packets – clockwise from top left we have seasoned oil, powder seasoning and veggies.

Here are the seasonings on a plate – the oil was very aromatic and had a very nice onion scent.

Alas, our poor noodle block has been broken in transit from store to home! Here’s a small chunk of it.

Finished (click image to enlarge). I added an egg while cooking the noodles. Got a little baby bok choy to toss in at 99 Ranch Market as well as some Ajishima Kimchi Furikake rice seasoning. The noodles were very nice as usual. The onion flavor was perfectly balanced with the saltiness of the broth; not overpowering and not weak.  The veggies were regular but not extremely abundant. Good bowl of noodles – 3.75 out of 5.0 stars. UPC barcode 721557450949 .

#348: Paldo Bowl Noodle Soup Kimchi Flavor

So here’s another one of these by Paldo. It shall be today’s breakfast/lunch.

One solitary packet of love.

Mount Kimchi Flavoring! Behold all of its glory!

Click image to enlarge. So I added a slice of oven roasted turkey breast lunch meat. So there are veggies – just in the bottom of the bowl on this one. The noodles sat for about 8 minutes and I thought that made them extra good. The broth was nice and spicy too, and the veggies were crisp. 3.5 out of 5.0 stars – a good lunch. Find it here.

These guys are easily scared by noodles.

This looks like good food!

#344: Paldo Stirfried Kimchi Noodles

So haven’t seen this one before so I snagged it today. Its a little hefty actually and seemed much bigger than most packages…

Top packet is dry powder soup base and the bottom is stir fried kimchi! It was amazing!

Look at that craziness! Wow! Smelled really good!

Click image to enlarge. Added a couple of fried eggs. Pretty good stuff! Chewy noodles, spicy broth and yeah – kimchi! I liked it. 3.75 out of 5.0 stars. Get some here.

Paldo commercial yielded this on YouTube…

Stevie Wonder & TONTO – very very cool footage. Watch & learn!

#297: Rhee Bros Assi Brand Wellbeing Hot & Spicy Rice Noodle With Kimchi Flavored Soup

So here’s another Rhee Bros. Assi Brand Wellbeing noodle pack comin’ atcha.

I really like how these noodles look – very neat and tidy, as is the flavor packet.

Awaiting boiling water and a record on top.

Added two fried eggs as this was breakfast and also threw a pinch of Tony Chachere’s Creole Seasoning atop the eggs for a little flavor but mostly aesthetics.

Noodles are good – there’s a decent kick of spiciness going on that is absorbed by them. The broth is quite spicy hot, and the small amount of vegetables aren’t too bad. I really would’ve liked more veggies though. 3.25 out of 5.0 stars.

#217: Samyang Bowl Noodle Soup Korean Kimchi Flavor

So if you follow my reviews you’d notice that Nongshim makes what looks to be almost the exactly same thing. Weird. But I suppose competition even in the world of instant noodles is fierce. So many varieties of noodles – one must stand out!

So look at the packet. Just one of them. Also, I’ve noticed that all of the Samyang stuff looks suspiciously like the Paldo stuff. Fun? Yum? you decide.

Deep red. Very nice. Color equals tasty. I hope.

I find this to be quite excellent. Ample veggies, a nice spicy broth and good noodles are topped by me with two fried eggs. A great meal. 4.0 out of 5.0 stars. Find it here.

#179: MAMA Kimchi Flavour Oriental Style Instant Noodles

Some Kimchi flavor from Thailand! Should be interesting. I’m going to doctor it up today with quite a few ingredients. One thing kind of interesting is that there is currently a cabbage shortage in Korea, where Kimchi is so widely consumed. Here is an article about it – thanks for the info Kit!

Three packets – soup base, chili powder and some dehydrated vegetables.

Here they sit awaiting the noodles and 400ml of water that they cooked in.

So here’s the finished product before I did anything to it. I found the noodles nice – thicker than I expected. The broth is a little spicy and there are sonme nice veggies. At this point, I would give it a 3.0 out of 5.0 stars. Nothing really to write home about. Now the makeover.

Some soft yolk fried eggs to start…

Kizami shoga adds a little color and bite…

Four dollops of Jufran hot banana sauce…

Some crunchy fried shallots are added…

Finally, a teaspoon of minced garlic right in the middle. This completely changes the game a lot. First off, the egg runs into the broth, making it slightly creamy and hearty. The pickled ginger adds a little acidic nip to the feel of the dish. Plus, the crunch of the ginger makes it have a slight reminiscence to the crunch of cabbage in kimchi (I know I’m reaching here but bear with me). The garlic gives a bit of growl. I think it all wraps together into a concoction of perfection. At this point, it gets 4.75 out of 5.0 stars. So to complete this review, 4.75+3.0 = 7.75 / 2 = 3.875 out of 5.0 stars. Get it here.
