#4215: Yuanxian Absolutely Yummy Hotpot Sweet Potato Noodle - China

Well, hello there! I haven’t been reviewing a lot lately – weather’s been nice and I’ve been walking a lot – did 22 miles last week – on Thursday! Luckily, I’m over a hundred reviews ahead so by the time you see this, it’s probably close to 4 months later than when I wrote this here. Anyways, this one came from Asian Family Market on Aurora a couple days before Lunar New Year. Let’s check it out!

Detail of the packaging (click to enlarge). Looks to be meat free but check for yourself. To prepare, boil noodle for 5 minutes. Add in sachet contents. The amount of water isn’t specificied, which is a little difficult but it looks to be soup on the package, so I’m going to try it with 500ml, a standard amount for Chinese varieties. Finally, stir and enjoy!

The sweet potato noodle.

A spicy sauce.

Vegetables and other ingredients.

Finished (click to enlarge). Added spring onion, sesame seed, and sliced Fresno pepper. The noodles were broad like biang biang or belt noodle. Thick too, with a lightness to them. The broth was thick and Sichuan pepper laden. Beans appeared sporadically. Nice quality, but not my favorite taste. 3.25 out of 5.0 stars.  EAN bar code 6970902470048.
