Here’s a fancy one from Japan found in a Zenpop box – check out zenpop.jp and use the coupon code RAMENRATER for a discount!
Here’s what they had to say about it – “Yotsuba is a restaurant you’ll want to add to your bucket list on your next trip to Japan. Just to give you a slight preview of what you can get there, they have released an amazing ramen cup! I mean, it doesn’t get much better: a rich soy sauce soup based on pork and chicken cup with pepper and garlic toppings. The Black Ramen Rich Shoyu is a delight. Strong flavors, smooth texture in the noodles, everything you’ll want from a cup of instant ramen.’
Sounds interesting – let’s give it a go.

Detail of the side panels (click to enlarge). Contains poirk and fish. To prepare, fill to line with boiling water and cover for 3 minutes. Add in sachet contents. Finally, stir and enjoy!

The noodle block.
A wet sachet.
Loose bits from the cup.
Finished (click to enlarge). Added chashu, marinated egg, Salad Cosmo mung bean sprouts, sesame seed, and shichimi. Noodles only hydrated so-so. What was odd about this one is that yeah, it’s a shoyu, and it simply tasted like brewed soy sauce. That was very odd. It wasn’t all that wonderful to be honest. 2.5 out of 5.0 stars.
