Thought I’d try this one again – it’s pretty sad – I have nothing new to review! Looking forward to some new varieties coming soon though hopefully! A couple from the UK have informed me that they’re sending a treasure trove of interesting varieties! Can’t wait! In the meantime, here’s the elusive Cucharealo – haven’t seen it for sale anywhere yet. Good stuff! Here’s the original review here.
Finished (click image to enlarge). Added a fried egg, cheese, Taxes Pete hot sauce, sweet onions, chicken lunch meat and Urashima Sesame & Salt furikake. The noodles are great – short and there’s tons of them. The broth has a really nice tomato taste with a hit of cumin. Great stuff! Gonna give it a 3.5 out of 5.0 stars yet again. UPC bar code 070662081013 .
This place was amazing when I was a kid; you could put your hand on the window outside and it would make the train inside move! I miss the old guard of the enormous department store.
So here’s the last of the top Ramen Short Cuts varieties that Nissin Foods USA sent me. Thanks again! Lime chili flavor eh? Sounds interesting. Its kind of funny; I got an email from someone at a company called Citrojugo the other day. Citrojugo is a company in Mexico that makes lime juice. I think they saw one of my reviews mentioned ‘jeruk nipis,’ which is ‘lime juice’ in Indonesian. Well, Citrojugo was curious if my company would be interested in it for my products. I told them that I only review products related to instant noodles, but that I could probably try their stuff and work it into a review of another product, such as marinated chicken with their lime juice. Well, they immediately dispatched a liter of clarified preserved lime juice. Serious stuff! I open it up and stuck my nose in the Nalgene containment vessel and got a real nosefull of powerful lime! I’ll be mentioning more about their stuff in upcoming reviews – haven’t marinated chicken with it yet but will be soon and it should be quite amazing!
Here’s the back as well as the side panels (click to enlarge).
It comes in one single bag! The noodles are pre-seasoned and require no packets, allowing you to make as much or as little as you want.
Look at all those noodles! I will say it again, these are really good straight out of the box – trust me.
Finished (click image to enlarge). Added some baked chicken breast, onions, broccoli and green bell pepper, medium cheddar cheese, a hard boiled egg with Ajishima Kimchi Furikake and some Huy Fong Sriracha chili sauce. The noodles come out much like egg noodles – although if you read the ingredients, these are indeed made with wheat noodles – not eggs. They’re soft and oplentiful – and tasty., Not chewy; definitely something made specifically for the US market. The broth is good – a strong lime and chili taste which was enjoyable. All in all quite interesting and works well as a base for a meal like this. Of course, I only review the base product before the extras are added in. 3.75 out of 5.0 stars – good stuff! UPC bar code 070662075074 .
Wish Nissin’d give me a call and send me here! Looks so awesome!
Here’s another one of the samples sent to me by Nissin Foods USA! Thanks again! So Roast Chicken flavor… I’m thinking I’m going to have fun with this one… Hmmm… Well, here we go!
Here’s the back of the package – click to enlarge.
The Here’s what’s in the box – a big bag of pre-seasoned noodles!
Here’s what the noodles look like. They’re shorter than what you’d usually expect from Nissin’s top Ramen line, but that’s why these are ‘Short Cuts,’ get it? Okay so since they’re pre-seasoned, they’re easily munched on. This box has some tasty bits in it – very tasty!
Finished (click image to enlarge). Added a can of grocery store succotash, a scrambled egg, some Krazy Mixed Up Salt and some Cajun Power Garlic Sauce. The noodles are broad and flat. There are so many of them! They’re soft and very ‘comfort food’ group. The broth is nice – thick and flavorful once it stands and has a nice roast chicken flavor. It’s a little tastier than the regular chicken. This is good stuff. 4.25 out of 5.0 stars. UPC bar code 070662075067.
Here’s another one of the new ones from Nissin! Let’s give it a try.
Back and side panels – click to enlarge.
A big bag of noodles!
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – this stuff is really tasty straight out of the bag! This one especially!
Andy got to eat this bowl – got him some different kamaboko the other day.
Finished (click image to enlarge). Added some kamaboko. The noodles are short and definitely fill the bill when it comes to ‘comfort food;’ lots of noodles and tasty. The broth is trademark tasty chicken flavor. A good one here – 4.0 out of 5.0 stars! UPC bar code 070662075029 .
Something I’ve never seen before – a Nissin Vietnam commercial
Matt Cain afterr he throws a perfect game for the San Francisco Giants in June!
Here’s another one of the new varieties that Nissin Foods USA sent me earlier this month to review. I got a comment from someone saying Cucharealo means ‘spoon it up.’ Makes sense – Nissin has a similar product called ‘Spoon it’ with flavors like chicken, beef and beet stew while the Cucharealo line is more hitting the Mexican flavors. The last one I tried was awesome – let’s give this one a try!
The side and back panels – click to enlarge.
Short, thin noodles.
A single seasoning packet.
I gave it a taste – has a slightly tangy tomato taste.
Finished (click image to enlarge). Added onion, red bell pepper, some over roasted chicken, Krazy Mixed Up Salt, a fried egg, Crystal hot sauce and some cheddar cheese. The noodles thin and short – definitely good for a spoon. The broth is pretty good – has a good tomato flavor. Not bad! 3.5 out of 5.0 stars. UPC bar code 070662081013 .
Some Nissin Japan TV commercials
Ongaku 70: Vintage Psychedelia in Japan – 01 – Osamu Kitajima – Tengu
Here’s one of the new one Nissin Foods USA sent recently. Cucharealo, eh? Couldn’t find out what that exactly means, but it looks like it’s something new and geared towards the Latino market. Interesting that it says Top Ramen on it too – brand recognition! Awesome – let’s give it a go.
Here are the sides and back – click to enlarge, as usual.
The noodles are in a bag – the box has three bags. These are short and thin.
One of the three seasoning packets.
Nice color – tasted a pinch – had some niceness to it, that’s for sure!
Finished (click image to enlarge). Added a couple fried eggs, some shredded cheese and some Krazy Mixed Up Salt. This is great stuff! The noodles are again short and this is really a soup – spoon was used on this one. The noodles are really nice – they have a good consistency and there’s a lot of them. The broth is excellent – has a strong chili powder and cumin taste and has a decent kick to it. This is really quite a departure from the norm. I delighted in the whole bowl! 4.5 out of 5.0 stars – excellent! UPC bar code 070662081037 .
This one was taking a little punishment in the noodle hamper, so I decided it better see the light of day and become ingested.
Here’s the info from the outer packaging (click image to enlarge).
Everything is in the cup – no packets or anything.
Finished (click image to enlarge). Added a little chicken lunch meat and a couple slices of Fresno pepper. Noodles were pretty standard ‘nothing to write home about,’ but they are rather historic fare. The broth has tones of cumin and chili powder. Not bad. The veggies were okay – marginal at best. All in all, not too shabby. 3.0 out of 5.0 stars. UPC bar code 070662031032 – get it here.
Here you go – enjoy this if you have to.
I still think Kyary Pamyu Pamyu’s better, but this has some promise on the J-Pop scene.
Yep – a Cup Noodle! Just sounded good. I reviewed one that I ate much earlier and just got done reviewing three that I only had a bite of each. This sounds like something tasty.
Here’s the info on the cardboard cover’s back (click image to enlarge..
Here’s the lid.
No packets – all inclusive.
Finished (click image to enlarge). Added some veggies. The noodles are good – if you haven’t had a cup noodle by Nissin before, they’re slightly flat and very thin. The broth is great – has a lot of chili powder flavor and is really tasty! The veggies are pretty good too. Not bad – having trouble finding any shrimp though and doesn’t seem all that shrimpy to me. Other than that, really good! 3.25 out of 5.0 stars. UPC bar code 070662030127 .
Had no idea! This looks amazing too!
A lot of people refer to Cup Noodles as Cup A Soup – definitely a different product.
Here’s a big cup from Nissin. Roast chicken sounds pretty good – especially to my son!
Here’s the side panels (click image to enlarge).
The seasoning and noodles are all together in the cup.
Finished (click image to enlarge). The noodles are like egg noodles and the broth was a little lighter than I hoped. I think a little bit thicker broth and maybe a stronger flavor would be nice. Still, it’s pretty tasty and I like the noodles. 3.25 out of 5.0 stars.UPC bar code 070662030462 .
This sounds like one of the crazy coupon people – but hey it’s for noodles so I can dig.
Here’s the last of the Spoon it’s that I received from the folks at Nissin Foods, USA. Sounded like something good for lunch. Anyways, let’s get to it!
Here’s the back and side panels (click image to enlarge). Remember this is a box and comes with three packages of seasoning and noodles.
These are tasty on their own – like a snack thing – probably would be good with the seasoning sprinkled on and eaten raw as well!
One of the three seasoning packets. I like the design of these. If I took all the images I have of them and put em’ together, it’d probably look like a Warhol.
Here’s the seasoning – all ready to go.
Finished (click image to enlarge). Added some chicken lunch meat, a little kizami shoga (pickled ginger), a can of mixed veggies and a liberal dose of Texas Pete Hot Sauce. I think I’ll have to say I liked the creamy chicken flavor the best of the Spoon it line. This one has the same noodles, but that creaminess made that one a lot more enjoyable. This has a decent chicken taste though, and again I do like these noodles – cooked or uncooked. 3.5 out of 5.0 stars. UPC bar code 070662070024 .
Video from the 7th World Instant Noodle Association Summit
Yep – yet another one of these. So far I’ve enjoyed them as lot! They’re part of the box of samples that Nissin Foods USA sent for Meet The Manufacturer week. Anyways, check it out!
Here’s the back and side panels from this one (click image to enlarge).
Here’s the bag of noodles – even uncooked, they’re tasty little buggers!
The seasoning packet of beefitude!
The powder’s ready to be used!
Finished (click image to enlarge). I heated a can of mixed vegetables and put some Krazy Mixed Up Salt on top. Then I put the noodles on top and a little bit of pickled ginger and pepper. The noodles are pretty good – like egg noodles. The broth has a nice beefy smell and taste to it. I must say though, out of all the Spoon it varieties I’ve tried so far, I liked this one the least. It just seems to be missing something – not sure what. 3.25 out of 5.0 stars – not bad but could be a little better. 070662070017 .
I’ve seen this video before – the Taiwan Beef Noodle Festival!
Here’s another one of the samples Nissin Foods USA were kind enough to send me. Thanks! Spicy chicken today huh? sounds good to me.
Here’s the info on the side of the bowl (click image to enlarge)…
Details from the top as well (click image to enlarge).
The round block of noodles.
A good amount of this stuff.
A good sized packet of vegetables.
Looks like a nice little crowd of small veggies.
Finished (click image to enlarge). I added an egg that I fried in a star-shaped cookie cutter (my second attempt to date), added some Huy Fong Sriracha hot sauce and some Krazy Mixed Up Salt on top of everything and also added some store brand stir fry veggies and turkey breast. The noodles are pretty good – exactly;y what you’d expect in a bowl like this. What I like is the flavor has a nice vegetable taste to it – don’t know that I detect a lot of chicken flavor but it’s got a lot of heat (on a scale of 1 to 10 I’d give it a 7 or 8 as far as heat goes) and the veggies which hydrated pretty well. All in all, not bad. 3.25 out of 5.0 stars.
