#5396: Vifon Instant Porridge With Salted Egg - Vietnam

This one came by way of James from Lakeside, California – thanks again! Yes, as usually said ‘I know this isn’t ramen.’ However, you might finbd it near the ramen and likely on the same instant noodle aisle. This one’s particularly interesting as its salted egg flavor. Sounds good to me – let’s give it a go.

Detail of the packaging (click to enlarge). Looks to be meat free but check for yourself. To prepare, add porridge and soup base into a bowl and add 350ml boiling water. Cover for 3 minutes. Add pouch of salted egg. Finally, stir and enjoy!

A pouch of porridge.

A sachet of soup base powder.

A retort pouch of salted egg.

Finished (click to enlarge). Added sesame seed, chili oil, and scallion. It’s definitely porridge, that’s for sure. It comes across more as a chicken porridge with little gummy bits of salted egg and a little veg. It’s not bad though, and if you’re in the mood for porridge, it should do the trick. 3.5 out of 5.0 stars.  EAN bar code 8935311110662.
