Another left over from the Nissin Hong Kong Meet The Manufacturer. I’ve reviewed many Nissin HK tonkotsu varieties thus far, and today we have yet another variety! This is a Tokyo Shoyu Tonkotsu. Shoyu translates to soy sauce, so this seems like it will be a kind of milky soy kind of thing? Let’s find out!!
Nissin Demae Iccho Tokyo Shoyu Tonkotsu Flavour Instant Noodle (Cup Type) – Hong Kong
Detail of the side panels (click to enlarge). Contains pork, fish and egg. To prepare, add boiling water to fill line and let steep covered for 3 minutes. Add in contents of sachet. Stir and enjoy!
Detail of the lid (click to enlarge).
The noodle block.
Loose seasoning and garnish from the cup.
A sachet attached to the lid.
A light powder (usually these sachets have contained a liquid base in my other reviews).
Finished (click to enlarge). Added Salad Cosmo mung bean sprouts, spring onion, egg, chashu pork and nanami togarashi. The noodles are thin with a round shape. Good quantity. The broth was more seafood and shoyu than what I would usually think of with a tonkotsu. Augmented with cabbage, scrambled egg and other bits which hydrated very well. 3.75 out of 5.0 stars.
