#1172: Koyo Seaweed Ramen Made With Organic Noodles

Been meaning to get to this one. Let’s check out this vegan variety!

Here’s the back of the package (click image to enlarge). Vegan-friendly.

The noodle block.

The seasoning sachet.

Powder seasoning.

Finished (click image to enlarge). Added a little seaweed. The noodles are chewy with a slightly wider gauge than your run of the mill instant noodle – nice quality. The broth is pretty good, although it doesn’t say seaweed to me. It has a good vegetable flavor, however the bits of seaweed have a very odd flavor to them I didn’t like at all. 2.75 out of 5.0 stars. UPC bar code 813551002061.

#973: Springlife Instant Noodles Spinach With Organic Noodles

Here’s one of the packs that came from Australia! Thanks go to Melanie I. of Jannali, NSW for sending these and also thanks to Mark K. for getting her to do it! These are from China but sold in Australia. Looks like something different – let’s check it out.

The distributor’s sticker.

The back of the package (click image to enlarge). I went with the second set of instructions.

The noodle block – in it’s own cellophane.

A large seasoning packet.

Interestingly light powder.

Finished (click image to enlarge). Added baked chicken, broccoli, sweet onion, green bell pepper, garlic salt and Urashima Sesame & Salt furikake. The noodles are very nice – great texture and feel. The broth definitely tastes of spinach, but it ends there. It’s not very salty at all, which can be good and bad. Good is that you can add your own, bad is if you don’t have any. I go with the base product of course on my reviews and this is some bland stuff. 3.0 out of 5.0 stars. UPC bar code 6931162280921 .

#471: Koyo Lemongrass Ginger Ramen Made With Organic Noodles

The first thing I noticed about this one was that it was expired. I got these at The Market At Anacortes on July 4th or 5th this year. I’m sure they’re still fine but jeez! Lenmongrass ginger… I like ginger that’s for sure. Wondering about lemongrass though – I guess we’ll see…

Single packet of powder.

Yup – powder – nothing much to see here really.

Click image to enlarge. Added one egg and cooked it with the noodles. Well, I must say I am rather taken aback by the way these noodles taste. The noodles aren’t bad by themselves – a little chewy. The broth had a lemongrass and slight ginger flavor. The thing is, is that I don’t think anybody checked to see what slapping all these ingredients together would be like in one’s mouth, otherwise known as a facehole. Therefore it is my decree that these are funky and not so good. My wife found them to be nasty and the one word I would call them would be muddy. 1.5 out of 5.0 stars; truly disappointing.
