#1669: A-One Mì Ly Instant Noodles Mì Chay Vegetarian Flavor

Another one from the bottom of the hamper! A very plain looking label – but how’s it taste? Let’s check out this variety from Vietnam.

The side panels (click image to enlarge). Contains shrimp. To prepare, empty everything into the cup and add boiling water to the top. Re-cover and steep for 3 minutes. Stir and eat!

Detail of the lid (click image to enlarge).

An included fork!

The noodle block.

The powder soup base.

A granular mixture.

A chilli powder sachet.

Smells like chillies!

A seasoned oil sachet.

Has an odd scent.

The vegetables sachet.

Little bits.

Finished (click image to enlarge). Added coriander, mung bean sprouts, broccoli, mushroom, white onion and red bell pepper. The noodles hydrated nicely – good gauge and chew to them for an instant cup. The broth however was a little different. It was sweet and buttery – didn’t taste at all like vegetables to me to be honest. It was really sweet. Also, I found a little piece of plastic in with this cup – looks like the little locking mechanism for the included fork, although the included fork was as usual with the locking mechanism, so guess this was an extra. Glad I caught it. 1.25 out of 5.0 stars.EAN bar code 8934684029618.

#91: Binh Tay Mi Chay Mushroom

Okay, let me explain.I have been going through every review meticulously for the last few days and you will see why in my next post, but I notice that review #91 was skipped for some reason. So, this will be it. Not a big mushroom fan but hey, the vegetable one this company made was alright so let’s give this one a try.

The back of the packaging (click to enlarge)

The noodle block. Tight and thin little noodles.

Not sure, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen a clear packet with both vegetables and powder, or a clear packet containing seasoning powder before.

Here are the seasonings and veggie bits atop.

Some seasoned oil.

Finished (click image to enlarge) Added bell pepper, broccoli, onion, Krazy Mixed Up Salt and Huy Fong Sriracha chili sauce. Noodles are thin and interesting – very plentiful and easily broken with the lips. Enjoyable. The Broth was very earthy and had a strong mushroom flavor. If you like mushrooms, this is definitely something you will like. The mushroom bits are also very earthy and mushroomy. Mushrooms have a flavor that remind me of an old attic window, peering out at a dark and cloudy day in February. That being said, I rate these at 2.75 out of 5.0 stars; just don’t like mushrooms.UPC bar code 8934566000018

#861: Vina Acecook Hao Hao Mi Chay Vegetarian Flavour

This looks like something good. The last one I reviewed wasn’t the best, so hopefully ol’ number 861 will be kinder and gentler.

I am going to say at the outset here that I find it really interesting that twice now I’ve had Vietnamese vegetarian noodles, but there’s no veggie packet. Seems kind of odd! I looked and out of four that I will have done now, only one will have included veggies. Also, this will be the second instant noodle review of the day that will be steeped!

Here’s the back of the packaging. Click to enlarge.

Noodle block – pre-seasoned and crunchy.

The powdered soup base.

This is a seriously light powder. Tried a little taste and kind of got a flavor reminiscent of fettucine flavor Noodle Roni!

Seasoned oil.

I’m gonna figure it’s the black pepper and chilli that are the solid bits.

Finished (click image to enlarge). Added the rest of my bag of bell pepper and broccoli (that’s what all those little green bits are), a little onion, a two egg omelet with 2 slices of fat free processed cheese, Huy Fong Sriracha chili sauce and some Krazy Mixed Up Salt. The noodles are pretty good – although really nothing amazing. The broth is very mellow and subtle. Not bad. 3.25 out of 5.0 stars. UPC bar code 8934563163150 .

#836: Binh Tay Mi Chay Vegetarian Instant Noodles

This is different – usually you don’t see a clear window in on the noodle block inside! Let’s have a try with this one.

Back of the packaging (click image to enlarge).

A dense noodle block.

Powder seasoning.

Has a sweet and onionny taste.

Seasoned oil.

Has a nice scent.

Finished (click image to enlarge). Added a little Huy Fong Sriracha chili sauce. The noodles are light and quite plentiful. Kind of remind me of the kind you would find in a cup noodle except of higher quality. The broth is pretty good! Has a nice onion and other vegetables taste to it. Decent stuff! 3.5 out of 5.0 stars. #341: Vina Acecook Daily Vegetarian Flavour Instant Noodles

Some new stuffs of happiness from the folks at Vina Acecook – we have vegetarian flavour. I’m enthused! I’m curious if this will taste like a vegetarian – vegetarian created with Japanese technology, that is!

Clockwise from top left: vegetables, seasoned oil and powdered soup base.

I’m always really happy with the way the veggies smell when I open the packet. It has a kind of sweet tea kind of aroma.

Click image to enlarge. With two eggs boiled in with the noodles. The noodles were amazing – had a very nice flavor. The broth was great too and the veggies were awesome – there was a big chunk of mushroom that re-hydrated very nicely. 3.75 out of 5.0 stars!

This video is really cool and I was most impressed during the segment where the president of the company had that amazing bass sound as he spoke! Very cool!
