#869: Vina Acecook Good Bean Vermicelli Chicken Flavour

I’ve got to say, this is some of my favorite packaging. I really like the big drumstick in the picture and the old english exclaiming ‘good.’ I hope it’s good! I’d rather it be better than just good, but I think I’ll just wait and see.

The back of the package (click to enlarge).

The bean thread block.

The seasoning powder.

Salty and chinkenny.

The seasoned oil.

Smells good too.

The veggie packet!

Quite an ample supply of vegetable bits.

Finished (click image to enlarge). Added hard boiled egg, baked chicken, Krazy Mixed Up Salt and Huy Fong Sriracha hot chili sauce. The noodles are, well, pretty good. They break easily when you purse your lips. The broth is good. Has a great chicken flavor. Only issue is that it has a kind of sting to it – wish I had a better word. Not like the bite of a spicy pepper, but different. The veggies were wonderous. All in all I think this was pretty ‘good.’ I think bean thread is growing on me. 3.25 out of 5.0 stars. #861: Vina Acecook Hao Hao Mi Chay Vegetarian Flavour

This looks like something good. The last one I reviewed wasn’t the best, so hopefully ol’ number 861 will be kinder and gentler.

I am going to say at the outset here that I find it really interesting that twice now I’ve had Vietnamese vegetarian noodles, but there’s no veggie packet. Seems kind of odd! I looked and out of four that I will have done now, only one will have included veggies. Also, this will be the second instant noodle review of the day that will be steeped!

Here’s the back of the packaging. Click to enlarge.

Noodle block – pre-seasoned and crunchy.

The powdered soup base.

This is a seriously light powder. Tried a little taste and kind of got a flavor reminiscent of fettucine flavor Noodle Roni!

Seasoned oil.

I’m gonna figure it’s the black pepper and chilli that are the solid bits.

Finished (click image to enlarge). Added the rest of my bag of bell pepper and broccoli (that’s what all those little green bits are), a little onion, a two egg omelet with 2 slices of fat free processed cheese, Huy Fong Sriracha chili sauce and some Krazy Mixed Up Salt. The noodles are pretty good – although really nothing amazing. The broth is very mellow and subtle. Not bad. 3.25 out of 5.0 stars. UPC bar code 8934563163150 .

#805: Acecook Super Big Ramen Soy Sauce Flavor Japanese Style Instant Noodle

So the last one of these I had was super salty. hoping this one isn’t going to be like that; I couldn’t really eat the last one because of it.

3,290mg of sodium (click image to enlarge).

A nice looking noodle block.

A big seasoning packet.

Veggies and powder.

A liquid packet.

Smells like sesame oil.

Finished. (click image to enlarge) Noodles are lackluster; they lack decent backbone. The broth is extremely salty but has a nice soy flavor. The oil kind of cheapens the experience as does the heavy saltiness A tad less on both would be excellent. The finest point in this one was the veggies. They’re really decent – corn and other bits like narutomaki. That doesn’t save it from doom though. 1.25 out of 5.0 stars – again, so salty I couldn’t finish it. Looks like a commercial for its Japanese version.

#641: Vina Acecook Hao Hao Fried Noodles Shrimp & Onion Flavour

Been waiting for a good day to review these – they sound really good! I thought I’d try them today to celebrate the CNN article coming out!

Here’s the back of the package (click image to enlarge).

An oddly shaped noodle block; the noodles had a slight pre-seasoning to them.

From left to right: Powdered seasoning, seasoned oil and veggies/herbs.

Here’s everything. This pack asks you to steep and then drain the noodles and mix well with the seasonings in a bowl.

Finished (click image to enlarge). I added two fried eggs (soft yolk) with a little pepper and Cavender’s Greek seasoning on top. I also added some fried shallot and Kizami Shoga (pickled ginger). Steeping the noodles made them a little more engorged than I would have liked and the seasonings weren’t as strong as I would have expected. Usually I really like the Vina Acecook line, especially their Hao Hao stuff, but this time it wasn’t as good as usual. 3.0 out of 5.0 stars – good, but not great. UPC barcode 8934563805159 .

#341: Vina Acecook Daily Vegetarian Flavour Instant Noodles

Some new stuffs of happiness from the folks at Vina Acecook – we have vegetarian flavour. I’m enthused! I’m curious if this will taste like a vegetarian – vegetarian created with Japanese technology, that is!

Clockwise from top left: vegetables, seasoned oil and powdered soup base.

I’m always really happy with the way the veggies smell when I open the packet. It has a kind of sweet tea kind of aroma.

Click image to enlarge. With two eggs boiled in with the noodles. The noodles were amazing – had a very nice flavor. The broth was great too and the veggies were awesome – there was a big chunk of mushroom that re-hydrated very nicely. 3.75 out of 5.0 stars!

This video is really cool and I was most impressed during the segment where the president of the company had that amazing bass sound as he spoke! Very cool!
