#1098: Tropicana Slim Low Fat Noodles Hainan Chicken

Here’s another Indonesian variety from the big donation I was sent recently – thank you! Tropicana Slim – sounds like a character from an old mobster movie or something involving orange juice? I assure it’s neither – they’re low fat noodles from Indonesia! Let’s check these out!

A little sticker was covering something on the back of the package. It translates to “Tropicana Slim Low Fat Noodles, noodles with a low fat content, is the right choice for you.”

The back of the package (click to enlarge). See the little rectangle with the blue dot? That’s where the sticker was. It translates to “Mi is a popular culinary and well-liked. However, the high fat content makes most people limit consumption mi.
Tropicana Slim Low Fat Noodles are noodles with a low fat content which helps keep the weight off.
Tropicana Slim Low Fat Noodles right choice for your life.” ‘Mi’ means noodles; mi goreng means fried noodles.

Interesting looking noodles.

Powder seasoning on left and chili powder on the right.

Here’s the chili powder atop the seasoning powder.

Seasoning oil packet.

Has a nice onion scent.

Finished (click image to enlarge). Added some chicken breast with Sambel Asli Chili Sauce, green onion, a fried egg and lime. The noodles are neat – they’re flat and have a nice crumble and texture – very comfort food like, kind of surprising especially for a ‘health-conscious’ variety. The broth has a nice chicken flavor which isn’t overly salty nor is it bland. This was fun! 3.75 out of 5.0 stars. UPC bar code 749921020031.

So it looks like Tropicana Slim makes lower fat, lower sugar products – this looks like a sugar substitute.

Products cooked according to package instructions. Product reviews done prior to adding any additional ingredients.
