Here’s the second of the Nissin Mexico fiery hot Habanero line. Habanero peppers are definitely not to be messed with; I’ve made hot sauce a few times using them. The worst was when I hadn’t used rubber gloves and later in the day rubbed my eyes – burned really good even after multiple hand washings! Yeah – no fun. But, they deliver a great heat – let’s give this shrimp variety a try!

Meet The Manufacturer: #2333: Nissin Maxi Sopa Nissin Cuchareable Sabor A Pollo - Mexico - fideos instantanea

Here we have a big cup of noodles! I did a little translation on this one for you – ‘maxi’ means ‘big,’ ‘sopa’ means ‘soup,’ ‘cuchareable’ means ‘spoonable,’ and pollo means chicken.  Basically, this is a chicken noodle soup one can enjoy with a spoon instead of a fork. Got it? Let’s check it out!

Finished (click to enlarge). Added corn, chicken and queso fresco. The noodles are indeed ‘cuchareable,’ and are interesting. They have a short and broad nature with a light chew and a little thickness. The flavor is that of a salty chicken soup. I should note that the broth has a slight thickness to it which gives it a more ‘homestyle’ kind of vibe. 3.75 out of 5.0 stars. UPC bar code 070662240137.

#2159: La Moderna Sazon Casero Sopa Con Tomate Y Sabor Pollo

Here’s one sent by Colin after a trip to Mexico – thanks! Translating shouldn’t be hard, but for thoes who can’t, this is tomato chicken soup with noodles. Sounds like it should be pretty good! Let’s find out!

Here’s the back of the package (click to enlarge). Contains chicken. To prepare, boil 4 cups of water and add in sachet contents. Cover and simmer 5 minutes. Stir and enjoy!

Here’s what the packet contents look like.

Finished (click to enlarge). While not oily and very thin, the broth has a nice tomato chicken taste to it. The noodles are thin and short and do the job. 3.25 out of 5.0 stars. EAN bar code 7501018315009.

#2074: Nissin Cup Noodles Sabor Pollo Habanero y Limon Sopa Instantanea

Here’s another one sent by Colin, a reader who recently visited Mexico – thanks! Okay so with all the flames on this one, the picture of the habanero and the packet, I’m getting this might be a little spicy. Let’s find out.

Detail of the side panel (click to enlarge). Contains chicken. To prepare, add boiling water to fill line and cover for 3 minutes. Stir. Add sachet contents and enjoy!

Detail of the lid (click to enlarge).

Looks like the USA version except in Spanish. Reads ‘much more than a soup.’

The seasoning infused noodle block.

A couple of the vegetable bits from the cup.

Oh, this could get violent (click to enlarge)! El Yucateco is one of the spiciest hot sauces I’ve come in contact with, especially the habanero!

Finished (click to enlarge). Added baked chicken and cilantro. The noodles are your standard North American fare – round in gauge and with a very light chew. The broth was a hint of spicy – not a barn burner here. The vegetables hydrated very nicely. The packet of El Yucateco – now that’s worth a fuss! Extremely spicy stuff – and not USA habanero spicy, Mexican habanero spicy which is very direct and to the point. It’s hot, has a bite and really ups this cup quite a bit. 3.5 out of 5.0 stars.  UPC bar code 070662141236.

#1429: Nissin Sabor A Gallina Sopa Instantanea Con Fideos

This is the last of the new varieties available in the South American country of Colombia. What is Gallina? Well, it’s young hen. It was explained to me that Gallina is a little more oily. Andy will be enjoying this one today! Let’s have a look.

By the way – Andy’s got a new website he’s building all by himself. He’s 9 years old and taking all the pictures and writing all the text! Check it out! Yes, there are a lot of typos, but I think it will be neat to see the progression as he grows up and how his blogging style evolves.

Here’s the back of the package (click image to enlarge). Looks to be meat free but definitely check for yourself. To prepare, add noodles to 2 cups boiling water and cook for 3 minutes. Add seasoning sachet contents and stir. Enjoy!

The noodle block.

The soup base sachet.

An interesting powder.

Finished (click image to enlarge). Added chicken sauteed with garlic salt and some cilantro from my wife Kit’s garden. The noodles are your very standard Nissin instant; a nice gauge and chew. The broth has a richer chicken flavor than the regular chicken flavor, with a slight bit more tension in the broth. I liked it. 3.5 out of 5.0 stars. UPC bar code 7770662018059.

Here’s a recipe to make a Colombian soup.

#1186: Nissin Sabor A Carne Sopa Instantánea Con Fideos

I read an article recently about Nissin starting to sell instant noodle in Colombia, so I shot an email to my friend Scott over at Nissin Foods USA and asked if I could maybe get some samples. He sent some! Thanks, man! This is pretty much identical to beef Top Ramen, but packaged for the Colombian market. Speaking of Top Ramen, Nissin is having a neat contest (here’s a link). Neat prizes and it’s easy. Anyways, let’s check it out!

Here’s the back of the package (click image to enlarge). I desaturated the color a bit to make it easier to read. Contains beef powder.

The noodle block.

The soup base sachet.

Has a beef scent.

Finished (click image to enlarge). Added beef, jalapenos, carrots, and sweet onions. The noodles have a nice chew to them – there are plenty of them as well. The broth has a nice rich beef flavor. 3.75 out of 5.0 stars. UPC bar code 7770662018028.

#320: Maruchan Hot & Spicy Picante Chicken Flavor Ramen Noodle Soup

So what a shocker – we were strolling down the aisle of a big box grocery store and saw this sitting there. I like how they incorporated the Mexican flag into the packaging too! While trying to find a commercial for the last review (#319: Maruchan Oriental Flavor Ramen Noodle Soup) I found a TON of homemade videos for Maruchan Instant Lunch as well as official ones. It was insanity! test

One packet.

Powdery powder.

Click image to enlarge. Added one uno huevo. Wow now this is something different and actually I’m quite pleased. The noodles are great and the egg compliments well. It’s the amazing flavored broth – tons of turmeric and cumin I think are added to give it a really nice flavor; a almost like enchiladas or something. Really tasty – 4.0 out of 5.0 stars! Find it here.
