#2911: New Touch Classic Shouyu Ramen

#2911: New Touch Classic Shouyu Ramen

Here’s another neat one from Zenpop.JP. Thank you! So Zenpop has all sorts of monthly boxes including ramen boxes. Nine instant ramen in one box for a good price – check ’em out! Here’s what they had to say about this one – ‘Simple, classic shouyu ramen will never be boring. Flavorful vegetables, roasted garlic, and black pepper boost the savory taste of shouyu based chicken soup. The toppings include chopped roasted pork, shrimps, scrambled eggs and green onions.’

This particular one came from a ramen and sweets mix pack, one of the boxes Zenpop has to offer. Let’s check it out!

Not just veg but scrambled egg and bits of pork.

Finished (click to enlarge). Added Salad Cosmo mung bean sprouts, spring onion, hard boiled egg and shichimi. The noodles come out pretty good – nicer chew than many instants – some backbone there. The broth is really good – has some of the best shoyu flavor I’ve found in an instant. Included bits of pork, egg and veg work perfectly. A really nice surprise. 5.0 out of 5.0 stars.  JAN bar code 4903088009537.

#2595: TableMark Cantonese Shouyu Ramen

#2595: TableMark Cantonese Shouyu Ramen - Japan - The Ramen Rater - Zenpop

Here’s one I got from ZenPop, a company that’s producing ramen boxes in Japan. They have a new box just about every month with 9 different varieties – a pretty impressive amount!

Here’s what they had to say about this one – “The oyster sauce added to the soy sauce based soup is the secret of the appetizing flavor. The thick soup matches well with the noodles and veggies. The chunks of vegetables include cabbage, corn, green onion, qing-geng-cai and red pepper.’ Sounds interesting – let’s get to this one from TableMark.

The aforementioned vegetables – good size and quantity.

Finished (click to enlarge). The noodles are thin and a little slippery but quite good on the gauge and chew. The broth is very greasy – and it works well. It definitely leans more towards the oyster sauce than the shoyu side of things. The vegetables are all over – something I like a lot. 4.5 out of 5.0 stars. JAN bar code 4901520400577.

#2030: Myojo Charumera Artificial Tonkotsu Shouyu Flavor

Here’s another one sent by Colin – thanks, man! I’m a big fan of tonkotsu ramen – I would say it probably my favorite variety of the Japanese dish. Rich pork bone broth with a creamy and milky look and mouthfeel. Ahhh… Let’s check this one out!

Here’s the back of the package (click to enlarge). Contains fish. To prepare, add noodle block to 2 cups boiling water and cook for 3 minutes stirring occasionally. Add in powder seasoning and stir. Add in liquid seasoning. Stir and enjoy!

The noodle block.

Powder soup base.

Fluffy powder.

A liquid seasoning sachet.

Oil.

Finished (click to enlarge). Added Salad Cosmo mung bean sprouts, spring onion and chashu pork. The noodles are of nice gauge and chewiness. The broth is a thinner one for tonkotsu, but it has a very nice and creamy pork taste to it with a nice bit of shoyu. 3.75 out of 5.0 stars.
