#1118: Mr. Noodles Kimchi Bowl Noodles Oriental Style Noodle With Soup Base

Here’s another one we found in Richmond, BC during my birthday trip! Thanks yet again to my wife Kit! By the way today is out 3 years and 7 months first meeting anniversary! I’m curious about this one since it’s a Canadian product and it’s a South Korean theme. My hopes are high! Kind of an interesting one to pick as well as I got an email today from MBC , a South Korean TV network, and I’m going to do an interview with them tonight for the Cul-Two TV show! When it’s out, I’ll share a link. As for this noodle bowl, let’s check it out!

Here’s all the package info (click image to enlarge). Looks to be meat free. Contains wheat & soy.

The noodle block.

The powder base packet.

Has a nice tangy flavor.

The veggie packet.

Looks like dehydrated kimchi to me!

Finished (click image to enlarge). Added beef and Vidalia sweet onion sauteed in Worcestershire sauce, kimchi and green onion. The noodles are thin and weak with a very crumbly texture. The broth is a little on the light side, however is has some spiciness and a nice flavor. The vegetables were interesting as they tasted more like broccoli than kimchi, yet they were there. 2.75 out of 5.0 stars.UPC bar code 059491009016.

If you are from Canada, then move to South Korea, and then comback to visit Canada, here are some things you’ll appreciate about Canada you may have taken for granted before…

#800: Mr. Noodles Instant Noodles Chicken Simulated Flavour

2012_7_8_800_001

Here it is – number 800! Gonna hit that four digits sooner or later. Thanks go to Mark K. and Erika L. for getting these to me! I had to decide on an appropriate variety for today’s big 800, so I though Canadian chicken (simulated flavor) instant noodles was fascinating enough to do the trick! So, here we go!

The noodle block.

The single soup base packet.

It’s got a definitely funky chicken taste…

Andy had some Nongshim Bowl Noodle Beef and kamaboko! Check out his blog, Andy’s LEGO Stuff here!

Finished (click image to enlarge). Added veggies, an egg, some Huy Fong Sriracha chili sauce and some Ajishima Kimchi furikake. Well, the noodles weren’t too bad this time – not all funky. The broth was better too – had a better taste to it. Then again, this is chicken flavor – hard one to make unpalatable! I honestly found this to be the best Mr. Noodles I’ve tried thus far! 3.0 out of 5.0 stars! UPC bar code 059491000501 .

Great scene from Poseidon Adventure.

#793: Mr. Noodles Spicy Beef Simulated Flavour Instant Noodles

Here’s another pack of these Canadian instant noodles ! Thanks go to Mark K. and Erika L. for getting these to me! This is the first spicy one I’ll be trying – curious how it’ll be!

Here’s the back of the packaging (click image to enlarge).

The noodle block. Crunchy stuff!

Un sachet d’assaisonnement.

I gave it a taste and found it was indeed spicy.

Finished (click image to enlarge). Added some onions and an omelet with some beef lunch meat, pepper jack cheese and some Huy Fong Sriracha hot sauce. So far, these are the best noodles I’ve had by Mr. Noodles yet. Unfortunately, they’re really missing something: flavor. The texture is off too; hard to explain but they end up kind of weird during the chewing. The broth is good but has a kind of odd aftertaste. It is bland  however and leaves me wanting to add salt. Not something I usually can say about instant noodles. Sadness. 1.75 out of 5.0 stars. and UPC bar code 059491000785 .

Hey this is interesting – I wonder if they’re related?

To my surprise, a lot of people do YouTube videos of themselves enjoying sandwiches. So here’s a guy eating a sandwich.
