#2536: Lele Instant Noodles Beef

#2436: Lele Instant Noodles Beef - Ghana - The Ramen Rater

This one was sent to me by Chef Ron from Mama Pat’s Foods – hey thanks! This is from Ghana in Africa! Nice to be able to try varieties from Africa; I’ve had so few! Let’s give this beef one a try.

Lele Instant Noodles Beef – Ghana

Here’s the back of the package (click to enlarge). Looks to be  meat free but check for yourself. To prepare, add noodles to 350ml boiling water and cook for 3 minutes. Add in sachet contents. Finally, stir and enjoy!

Chilli powder.

Finished (click to enlarge). Added beef and green onion. The noodles were very soft; it was actually kind of odd how soft they were. However, they went pretty well with the broth which has a kind of gentle beef flavor with just a hint of spiciness. 3.5 out of 5.0 stars. EAN bar code 6936811700225.

#458: Ve Wong Kung-Fu Artificial Beef Flavor Instant Oriental Noodle Soup

Hai Ya! Yet another bowl of Ve Wong’s Kung-Fu line or instant oriental noodle soups! Today it’s artificial beef flavor. Dig it!

Seasoned oil to the left, some powdery stuff to the right. Big silver packet so maybe some veggies?

Yup – veggies and soup base on the left and the seasoned oil on the right surfing atop the noodle block.

Click image to enlarge. One egg added – one fried egg. Let’s see here… The noodles were as they usually are – pretty good and slightly mushy. The broth was just salty enough, had a nice beef like flavor – very artificial… The veggies were quite abundant – I like that. Was great! 3.75 out of 5.0 stars for this sub-$1 bowl!

This place looks like they make the non-artificial style noodle soup! That thing is groovy!

Yeah – a history of forks!

#433: Lucky Me! Supreme Bulalo Bone Marrow Flavor Noodle Soup (Cup)

So This one got reviewed at the studios of KIRO 97.3 FM yesterday – here’s a video of me making and trying it.

Click image to enlarge. So this stuff wasn’t bad. It had a nice beefy flavor to it and the noodles weren’t too soggy, although they were a little funky. 3.25 out of 5.0 stars. Get it here.

#420: Sapporo Ichiban Beef Flavor With Natural & Artificial Flavors Oriental Noodle Soup

As promised, here’s another of Sapporo Ichiban’s cup line. Again, we see the cooked and ready product being inundated with more piping hot water. Weird picture…

Well, I’m sad to report that this one isn’t as nice as the chicken. The chicken contained actual chicken while this one contains beefish bits. Bit o’ Fake Beef! TSP (Textured Soy Protein) is used, which is kind of a cousin to TVP (Textured Vegetable Protein), which can be made to resemble all sorts of fake meats.

A single packet of flavored powder…

This is one thirsty cup awaiting some water…

Click image to enlarge. I really like how nicely the vegetables re-hydrate. The noodles were warm and hearty, and the broth was very beefy – and not super salty. I like it – a good cup of noodles. 3.5 out of 5.0 stars. Get it here.

Found this music video while searching for one about textured vegetable protein.

#387: Nissin Bowl Noodles Rich & Savory Beef Flavor

Well this should be a tasty and tame one after the horror of the zero star review #386. So on we go with some beefiness!

Only two packets eh? Kind of a surprise as I expected powder and veggie packets… Especially with the Soup Booster’s big number 3.

So the green packet contains a combo of powder and veggies. The noodles themselves are tasty on their own – kind of like weird potato chips.

Click image to enlarge. Added two fried eggs with a little garlic salt and Tony Chachere’s Creole Seasoning on them. Bam – goodness. The noodles are nice – spoon-able I’m sure but also fork-able with a fork. The broth is ‘rich and savory’ with a deep flavor. The veggies are nice and tasty too. I like this stuff – it’s a good meal, especially when you drop a couple eggs in there. 3.75 out of 5.0 stars. Get it here.

#375: Vifon Pho Bo An Lien Vietnamese Style Instant Rice Noodle Beef Flavour

So here’s something new but kind of like a lot of other stuff…

Clockwise from top: powdered soup base, veggies and seasoned oil.

Sitting atop the noodles block. Looks like some broad noodles.

Click image to enlarge. Okay so the noodles are kind of broad, yeah. The broth is quite greasy. The noodles are mushy. The veggies are there but not enough. It doesn’t taste like beef pho. 0.5 out of 5.0 stars. Bummer, Vifon! Find it here.
