Here’s one that was found in an Umai Crate. Umai Crate is a moonthly subscription box you can get from Japan – lots of cool stuff to try every month! Use coupon code THERAMENRATER for a discount!

Here’s what Umai Crate had to say about these: ‘Now you can make your own Japanese style spaghetti! Butter and soy sauce is a popular Japanese flavor combo that is the perfect balance of a bit of sweet and salty. Try it and fall in love with the deliciousness for yourself.’

I have known about this company for years – I did a Meet The Manufacturer with them and still correspond with my contact from time to time. I’m really looking forward to this one – Hi Yuji! Let’s get started!

Detail of the packaging (click to enlarge). Unsure whether it contains meat – check for yourself. To prepare, add extras – like chashu, onion and spring onion, and a little butter and sautee. Add noodles and separate and stir. Add in sachet contents and 2 spoons of water. Turn of heat. Finally, stir and enjoy!

The fresh noodle pouch.

The seasoning sachet.

Finished (click to enlarge). Added white onion, spring onion, chashu, and chili flake. Noodles have a nice gauge and great fresh chew to them. The flavor is as advertised – a kind of salty soy with a hint of sweet and then a little butteriness. All in all enjoyable and hearty. 4.25 out of 5.0 stars.  JAN bar code 4901726050163.
