#1261: Meet The Manufacturer: Eat & Go Rasa Baso Sapi Meat Ball Mi Instan Cup

I wanted to do something special with this one. Recently, I visited Waroeng Jajanan, an Indonesian grocery nearby. As it turns out, they make Indonesian style meatballs! I didn’t want to make this without sampling them, so this is a really exciting one for me! Honestly, I’ve never had Indonesian food other than instant noodles before! Let’s check it out!

Finished (click image to enlarge). Added greens and a large meatball from Waroeng Jajanan and some hard boiled egg. The noodles were as good as usual – nice gauge and texture. The broth was a nice meaty flavor and had a decent heartiness. The tofu chips were a nice addition (not pictured as I forgot to add them in in this shot). 3.75 out of 5.0 stars.

By the way – the big meatball from Waroeng Jajanan was absolutely delectable! I wish I would’ve gotten a picture of what was inside this amazing thing – a perfectly cooked hard boiled egg with a soft yolk! Thank you! Wonderful! 5.0 out of 5.0 for their food! I’ll be doing a review of something else I got from there today after the Meet The Manufacturer is over. UPC bar code 8992388112807.

I thought the computer voice on this was a little odd!

#1259: Meet The Manufacturer: Eat & Go Chicken Onion Mi Instan Cup

It should be pretty obvious: I like onions. I use them in pretty much every meal I make. Chicken and eggs are quite enjoyable too. Let’s check this one out.

The noodles were consistent in quality with the other Eat & Go cups. Good chew and quality. They have a just slightly narrower gauge than baseline packaged instants. The broth was much lighter than other varieties I’ve tried. It wasn’t spicy but had a nice chicken and onion flavor. The tofu chips added a nice little extra, and the vegetables were very good. 3.75 out of 5.0 stars. UPC bar code 8992388112784.

Indonesian street food looks like quite an adventure – so many varieties with so many great flavors!

#1257: Meet The Manufacturer: Mi ABC Mi Goreng Mi Instan Cup Mi Goreng Spesial Special Fried Noodle

Mi goreng means fried noodles. To those not familiar with mi goreng, you’ve absolutely must try it! There’s no broth involved and very strong and delicious flavors. I would wager that if I looked through all my reviews, I’d be hard pressed to find a mi goreng that I didn’t like. Well, there was one, but it was a Chinese take on it and the spices were really off. What’s really nice is the ability to pair it with so many different things. Let’s delve into this one; I have a good feeling about it!

The side panels (click image to enlarge). Looks to be meat free but check for yourself. To prepare, take everything out except the noodles. Add boiling water and cover for 3 minutes. Give it a stir and then drain off the water. Add all the sachet contents, save the garnish and stir. Sprinkle garnish on top and enjoy.

Detail of the lid (click image to enlarge).

Included fork!

The noodle block.

The powder seasoning sachet.

A very light powder.

A triple sachet. From left to right: seasoned oil, chilli sauce, sweet soy sauce.

Has an onion scent.

A sweet and spicy taste.

Sticky and thick, kecap manis (sweet soy sauce) isn’t the soy sauce you find predominately in the US which is salty and thin.

The garnish sachet.

The large rectangular pieces are pangsit goreng (fried wontons). The smaller? Fried onion.

Finished (click image to enlarge). Added sauteed onions, thin sliced sukiyaki beef, lime, kerapuk aci, fried egg, Dua Belibis chilli sauce, and a generous sprinkle of BonCabe 10 Star spice. The noodles are good – nice texture and quality for a cup version. The flavor is nice – a sweet and spicy taste, and I detected an almost citrussy hint. The fried bits were very nice. . 4.0 out of 5.0 stars. UPC bar code 8992388112654.

It has just come to my attention that Peter O’Toole died yesterday at the age of 81. He was in many films, but the one I found most amazing was Lawrence of Arabia. Today’s video is the first half of the film. Don’t worry, the second half is here. It’s a very long film, but I highly recommend it. By the way – there’s nothing wrong; the first couple minutes of both halves are preceded by the overture.

#1256: Meet The Manufacturer: Eat & Go Curry Chicken Mi Instan Cup

To begin this Meet The Manufacturer, I decided that curry chicken flavor sounded good today. One thing I’m a big fan of is curry; from India, Britain, Thailand, Japan and of course Indonesia. In the past, I’ve been pretty amazed at everything that they put inside these Eat 7 Go cups. Let’s see what awaits within!

Here are the side panels (click image to enlarge). Looks to be meat-free, but check for yourself. To prepare, put all the contents of the seasoning sachets except the tofu chips in the bowl and add boiling water to the line. Let steep covered for 3 minutes. Uncover and stir. Sprinkly tofu chips on top and you’re done.

UPC The noodles are thin and of good quality, especially for a cup. The broth has a very nice curry chicken flavor with deep flavor. The vegetable mix was very good quality as well as rather plentiful. The tofu chips add a nice little finish to the bowl. 4.25 out of 5.0 stars. bar code 8992388112791.

ABC make all sorts of sauces in Indonesia, most notably kecap manis (sweet soy sauce).
