#2075: Mi Sedaap Mi Segera Mi Goreng Ayam Krispi

Time for some mi goreng! So this is another one I found at the Uwajimaya in Renton, WA by where my son goes to Pokemon League. Today’s a weird day; the local power company has been going from apartment building to apartment building and repairing these big green power boxes outside. I’m guessing that the power could go out at any minute! I guess We’ll see – let’s get started!

Detail of the distributor’s sticker (click to enlarge).Looks to be meat free but check for yourself.

Here’s the back of the package (click to enlarge). To prepare, add noodle block to a pot of water and boil for 3 minutes. Drain. Add in powder and liquid ingredients and stir. Sprinkle crispi bits on top. Enjoy!

The noodle block.

The powder base.

A light powder.

A triple sachet – from left to right, seasoned oil, sweet chilli sauce and sweet soy sauce.

The liquid mingling together.

The krispi garnish sachet.

Lots of little bits!

Finished (click to enlarge). Added kerapuk aci, Salad Cosmo mung bean sprouts, baked chicken, fried egg and coriander. The noodles have a nice gauge and mouthfeel. The flavor is a kind of sweet and spicy barbecue chicken taste which was very good although a little sweeter than expected. The crispy element of the garnish was good, however in lieu of quantity, less pieces that were larger would have been better I think. 4.5 out of 5.0 stars.  EAN bar code 8998866803809.

#1822: Mie Sedaap Instant Mi Kuah Rasa Baso Spesial

Sweet! An Indonesian variety I’ve not tried! I wish there were more that I could get around here. I rarely get any from Indonesia – one reader sent a couple of packages a while back full of all sorts of wonderful varieties – maybe someone will again? I hope so! Let’s check out this one from Mie Sedaap.

Here’s the back of the package (click image to enlarge). Looks to be meat free but check for yourself. To prepare, boil noodle in 400ml water for 3 minutes. Add seasonings to a bowl while bolling. Add noodles and water to bowl and combine. Enjoy!

The noodle block.

A dual sachet of dry seasonings.

Chilli powder atop soup base powder.

A seasoned oil sachet.

Has a beef scent.

The solid ingredients sachet.

Little imitation beef ball and vegetables.

Finished. Added Great Wall beef balls, Salad Cosmo mung bean sprouts, white onion and coriander. The noodles are standard instant gauge and chew – good stuff. The broth has a very strong stewed beef kind of flavor to it which also had a nice oiliness. The vegetables hydrated well. 3.5 out of 5.0 stars. EAN bar code 8998866200929.

#556: Wings Food Mie Sedaap Mi Goreng Perisa Asli

This is Mi Goreng – made by Indomie’s chief competitor. Will it stack up to Indomie Mi Goreng? Let’s see – the battle begins!

From left to right: Kecap Manis (sweet soy sauce), manas pedas (chili sauce), seasoned oil and bumbo (powder seasoning.

They all wait on a plate for the drained noodles and some stirring.

Some onions that will go atop the finished product.

Click image to enlarge. Package back. Notice the onion pack is of ‘plant origin,’

Click image to enlarge. Finished. Added a couple fried eggs and some pickled ginger. Those little funny pebbles are the fried onions. So the noodles are okay – actually slightly lesser quality in my opinion than Indomie but just slightly. The flavor of the noodles is excellent – a little spicy and a bit less sweet than Indomie’s. The onions are awesome – crispy and perfectly cooked. So no, it isn’t Indomie; it’s Mie Sedaap, and it’s

really quite good. It’s tough not making it a comparison kind of thing since I’m such a big fan of Indomie’s products. This will do in a pinch though and it is quite excellent. 4.75 out of 5.0 stars. Find it here.

#542: Wingsfood Mi Sedaap Mi Sup Perisa Ayam Istimewa (Artificial Chicken Special Flavor)

Hey this looks shmancy! Nothing better than an interesting new pack of noodles from Indonesia.

A dual packet containing seasoned powder and chili powder as well as a seasoned oil packet.

Yup – another new bowl. From the way this stuff smells, it’s gonna be good!

Click image to enlarge. Finished product, with a couple of fried eggs, of course. The noodles were a little most robust and chewy than your regular fare – very nice. The broth was pretty good too, although have had better  when it comes to chicken ramen. All in all not too bad but nothing really to cheer about. 3.0 out of 5.0 stars. Find it here.

Mi Sedaap commercial!

I’m quite jealous of this guy – I have a couple Osbornes that DON’T work.
