As you can see, Lucky Me! not only makes packaged instant noodles but cups as well (they also produce bowls). This one is a variety called Supreme Pinoy Chicken. From what I gather, these are supposed to be adobo chicken flavored instant noodles. What’s adobo chicken? Let’s ask Wikipedia:
Adobo (Filipino language: “marinade,” “sauce” or “seasoning”) is the name of a popular dish and cooking process in Philippine cuisine that involves meat, seafood, or vegetables marinated in a sauce of vinegar, soy sauce, and garlic, browned in oil, and simmered in the marinade. It has sometimes been considered as the unofficial national dish of the Philippines.
Let’s check Lucky Me!’s Supreme Pinoy chicken cup out!
Here’s detail of the side panels (click image to enlarge). Looks to be meat free but check for yourself.
Here’s detail of the lid (click image to enlarge). To prepare, open lid halfway and take out sachets. Empty sachets into the cup and add boiling water to the line. Steep for 3 minutes, stir and enjoy!
The noodle block.
The powder soup base sachet.
A light powder.
The garnish sachet.
Looks like and onion, garlic and carrot mix.
Finished (click image to enlarge). Added sauteed chicken, chopped garlic, bell pepper and sweet onion with pepper and adobo seasoning and some hard boiled egg. The noodles are broad and flat with a gentle chewiness. The broth has an interesting chicken and black pepper with notes of garlic kind of thing going on which I found interesting. 3.25 out of 5.0 stars. EAN bar code 4807770271342.
Lucky Me Instant Pinoy Chicken Mami, 2.81 Ounce (Pack of 24) – these are bigger bowls of the same flavor as I review above and come with a little package of SkyFlakes crackers!
Pretty cool TV advert saying turn off your devices and be with your family. Kind of surprised I’ve not seen anything like this in the United States. Maybe we should get some PSAs like these!
