#1391: Shan Shoop Instant Noodles Chicken Flavour

Okay so there’s this grocery store I wanted to check out for a while now. My friend Matt B. was over from out of town and said let’s check it out. The place is called Imran’s Market. I was hoping maybe there would be some interesting instant noodles inside. Well, right when I was about to give up, there they were – the noodles! These will be the second variety I’d ever tried from Pakistan! Let’s give it a look.

Here’s the back of the package (click image to enlarge). Looks to be meat free but check for yourself. To prepare, add noodles and sachet contents to 300ml boiling water. Cook 2-3 minutes, stirring with spoon. Pour in a bowl and eat hot.

The noodle block.

The seasoning sachet.

Has an interesting chicken scent.

Finished (click image to enlarge). Added a half chicken breast I sauteed with garlic salt and black pepper, corn, carrot, peas and sweet onion. The noodles are kind of odd. They seem kind of like a fresh uncooked noodle yet cooked. It’s like when you chew them, it has a flour kind of aftertaste. I wasn’t sure I liked that so much until I tried the broth. It really complimented the noodle nicely with a very good chicken approximation. Also was inspired by Middle Eastern flavors. This was unique. 3.5 out of 5.0 stars.UPC bar code 788821003706.

Here’s a TV advert for Shan Shoop instant noodles.
