Here’s yet another from a reader named Colin from the east coast. He’s always surprised me a little insofar as being able to send me varieties I hadn’t reviewed yet. I mean, this totally would have been one I would’ve passed over as previously reviewed, but I can’t find it anywhere. As far as walking by it at local stores, I’ve done so countless times. Anyways, let’s crack i open and have a look!

Finished (click to enlarge). Added Salad Cosmo mung bean sprouts, shrimp and coriander. The noodles were pretty good – a standard gauge with very soft chew. The broth has a nice tom yum taste – spicy, lemongrass and a little shrimp taste. The little shrimp hydrated well. 3.5 out of 5.0 stars. UPC bar code 052066000012.

#1291: A-One Mì Ly Instant Noodles Mì Tôm Shrimp Flavor

My son and I walked to the store the other day for some flowers and kamaboko. Of course, I can’t resist the noodle aisle and found 6 different styles of these little plastic noodle cups! Thought I’d try this one today. Let’s check it out!

An included fork! This is an interesting design; folds and snaps?

Here’s the fork in it’s final form.

The noodle block.

Powder base sachet.

Bits of green onion or chive in there.

Vegetable sachet.

Looks like a nice little assortment.

Seasoned oil sachet.

Smells good.

Finally, a sachet of very fine powder.

Chilli powder.

Finished (click image to enlarge). Added shrimp and leeks. The noodles are a bit rubbery after the initial 3 minutes, but end up better with an extra couple minutes. They’re not bad, but not amazing. The broth is where it’s at in this one – has a nice shrimp flavor and a surprisingly good amount of heat from the chilli powder. The vegetables are alright too. 3.25 out of 5.0 stars.UPC bar code 8934684029649.

#374: Vifon Shrimp Flavor Mi Tom Asian Style Instant Noodles

I rarely have any issue with a nice shrimp flavor bowl of noodles. These are from Vietnam by Vifon – I’d better cook them up and review them ‘cuz I’m hungry!

Two packets – the blue one is powdered soup base and the yellow is seasoned oil.

So look at that. Nothing special going on but fun to look at! I like how you can see the scratches on the bottom of the bowl – maybe its time to get some new ones…

Click image to enlarge. Added an egg to the boiling noodles. Okay so the broth – very very light. If you’re looking for a lot of shrimp flavor, this isn’t for you. I liked how the shrimp taste was delicate and refined and not a violent cavalcade of salt and funkiness. The noodles were nice – pre-seasoned. I liked this one! I’m giving it 3.75 out of 5.0 stars.
