Re-Review: Meet The Manufacturer: Paldo Hwa Ramyun With Soy Peptide

Here’s Paldo’s standard hot & spicy variety. Today and tomorrow are supposed to be the hottest days of the year here in the northwest – temps are supposed to hit 94 degrees today and 96 tomorrow. Hot and spicy sounds just about right! What’s Hwa though? Couldn’t figure that one out but here’s what the health info on soy peptide is! Anyways – I’m hungry – time to noodle it up!

The noodle block.

The seasoning packet.

Salty and spicy stuff!

The veggies!

Looks like a decent amount.

Finished (click image to enlarge). Added some kimchi, an egg, chicken and some Krazy Mixed Up Salt. The noodles are great – plentiful and nice gauge/texture. The broth has a strong spiciness to it with a nice flavor – not just hot but good taste as well. The veggies aren’t bad – and easily found. 4.0 out of 5.0 stars.UPC bar code 648436100422 – get it here.

Ouch…

Wow – what are they wearing on their heads? Go Lotte Giants!

#806: Ohsung Hot & Spicy Bowl Noodle Soup With Soy Peptide

Here’s one the folks at Ramen Place sent a while back. Sounded good today to have somethin’ spicy! Soy peptide eh? Here’s some info. Let’s see how it goes.

Here’s the side panel info (click image to enlarge).

The noodle block.

The seasoning packet.

Spicy stuff!

The bowl contained some veggies at the bottom – here’s a couple of them.

Finished (click image to enlarge). Added some veggies, processed cheese, fish cakes, kimchi and Texas Pete hot sauce. The noodles were a bit thinner than I expected and slightly spongy. Not too bad but better can be found. The broth was nice – had a nice spiciness to it and a decent flavor too. The veggies were skimpy but not bad.  Not bad! 3.5 out of 5.0 stars. My son abhors eggs – I think this will cause him to come over to the egg side.

I have got to try this stuff…

#673: Ohsung Hong Ramyun Noodle Soup With Soy Peptide Mild Taste

Here’s the first one of the reviews I’ll be doing of the big donation from Jennifer Kim at Ramen Place (www.ramenplace.com)! Thanks again! This one’s a new brand – Ohsung. It’s from Korea! Let’s have a look!

Here’s the back of this big package (click image to enlarge).

Here’s the noodle block – looks like nice wider-gauge noodles.

Vegetable packet on the left, seasoning packet on the right.

A nice amount of veggies and a glorious mountain of seasoning.

Click image to enlarge. Added an egg during the last 45 seconds of cooking. The noodles are decent quality – chewy enough and a nice wideness. The broth is what you would expect from a hot and spicy Korean instant noodle pack – without the heat. It’s got a hint of spiciness. The vegetables aren’t bad either. This is what I would consider a good baseline for Korean instants. Seems like every brand has some kind of hot and some kind of mild ramyun. This one was pretty good! 3.25 out of 5.0 stars – UPC barcode 846034000575 .
