#1986: A-Sha Quinoa Noodle with Oyster Sauce and Vegetables

Here’s another one I got from A-Sha’s US distributor recently – thanks! I saw this variety on the A-Sha Taiwan website and was very curious; who is the gentleman on the packaging? Well, I asked and this is what they had to say:

Chinese Name: Mr. Hsu Tien-Lin  (徐天麟)
English Name: Mr. Gary Hsu
Bio: He is one of the respectful food critics bloggers in Taiwan.  He didn’t specialize in specific type of foods and dining places. His fans pay lots of attentions to his recommendation and his detailed professional reviews. Due to the food safety issue lately in Taiwan, TRUST is a difficult thing to come by. Gary is a trustworthy and reliable source in the food industry.

Very cool – a fellow blogger! So this product is the first I think I’ve gotten from A-Sha that comes with a vegetable sachet. Not only that, it’s definitely the first of any products which contain quinoa in the noodle ingredients. Sounds interesting – let’s check it out!

Here’s the back of the package (click to enlarge). Unsure whether this contains meat. To prepare, add noodle block and vegetables to a pot of boiling water and cook 3 minutes. Drain and add in contents of liquid sachet. Stir and enjoy!

The noodle block.

the liquid sachet.

Has a sweet salty scent.

The vegetables sachet.

Lots of nice little bits.

Finished (click to enlarge). The noodles appear to be their Mandarin-stype. Flat with a medium width with a nice chew to them. The flavor is a kind of salty soy with a sweet tone. The vegetables are definitely a nice touch and would go great with all their varieties. 4.25 out of 5.0 stars. EAN bar code 4715635852783.

Here’s another variety by A-Sha: Hakka Flat Noodle Spicy Sesame Oil

This is a really great video of a photo shoot for A-Sha products.
