#1821: Myojo Udon Japanese Style Pre-Cooked Noodles With Soup Beef Flavor

My wife and I were at the grocery store the other day and she saw this series by Myojo. ‘Have you tried these yet?’ she asked. It’s funny – she finds lots of varieties for me that I never even notice – it’s pretty awesome! Since she’s a fan of udon, I thought I would make her some today. Let’s check ’em out!

Detail of the side panels from the cardboard outer (click image to enlarge). Looks to be meat free but check for yourself. To prepare, add in sachet contents and noodle pouch to bowl. Add room temperature water to fill line and microwave uncovered for 3 minutes at 1000 watts. Stir and enjoy!

Under the cardboard outer.

A pouch of udon.

The powder soup base.

Smells beefy!

The vegetables sachet.

A nice array.

Finished. Added Salad Cosmo mung bean sprouts, beef and spring onion. The udon came out nicely – good chew and nice standard gauge. The broth was pretty good – a salty beef thing going on. The vegetables ended up being primarily seaweed – a little too much. All in all though a nice bowl. 3.25 out of 5.0 stars.  UPC bar code 011152257679.
