Box From Japan is a monthly subscription service that delivers different varieties of instant noodles to your door each month – fancy stuff like this one! Definitely worth checking out. Also, thanks go to Shinichi S. for help in translation! So let’s ask Wikipedia about Tonjiru:

Tonjiru or Butajiru ( jap. 豚汁,とん汁,とんじる ) (both literally means pork soup) is a Japanese soup made of pork and vegetables with miso flavored paste. Compared to ordinary miso soup , Tonjiru is full-bodied, with a greater quantity and variety of ingredients.

Sounds pretty good to me! Let’s check it out!

A diverse assortment of ingredients.

Finished (click image to enlarge). Added pork and mung bean sprouts. The noodles hydrated perfectly in 6 minutes and had a great chew. They were broad and thick. The broth had a hearty miso kind of thing going on which I really liked, and the added vegetables were very welcome. 4.5 out of 5.0 stars. JAN bar code 4903088007182.
