#1240: Maggi Big Kari Perencah (Big Curry Flavor) 2 Minute Noodles

Here’s another that Annie T. from MyKuali in Malaysia sent me to try – thank you! It’s big – and it’s curry! Not only that, there’s still turkey left! Let’s give it a go!

Here’s the back of the package (click image to enlarge). Says it may contain traces of crustacean, fish, milk, celery and mustard. To prepare, boil 450ml water and add the noodles and seasoning sachet contents. Boil for two minutes and you’re golden.

Soup base sachet.

Has a very nice curry scent.

Finished (click image to enlarge). Added turkey baked in the over stuffed with apples and onions with fresh rosemary, garlic and butter under the skin and basted regularly during the time in the oven, hard boiled egg Fresno chilli pepper, broccoli and sweet onion with dashes here and there of Jane’s Krazy Mixed Up Salt. The noodles were pretty good; they had an interesting chew – a little chewier than I expected and what with the 2 minute cooking time I was pleased to find it wasn’t because they weren’t done, but just because they were chewy. I like them. The broth had a nice curry flavor – good depth and just the slightest hint of spiciness. 4.0 out of 5.0 stars.   UPC bar code 9556001207630.

Here’s a video of outtakes from the making of the commercial for this product and then the actual commercial.

  1. I was looking into this and something I found on other sites said that the name “2 minute” noodle is kind of the Indian equivalent of “in a jiffy”, and that 2 minutes can refer to something taking less than 20 minutes.

  2. One of the earliest instant noodles to hit the market in S’pore-M’sia, has always been consistently good but tastes better with add-on stuff.
