#1226: Master Kong Artificial Braised Beef Flavor Instant Noodle

Here’s one that’s been kind of confusing in the past, and it still is. A guy who said he worked for Master Kong said these aren’t actually Master Kong. When I check the UPC code, it comes up with Kailo Brand Abalone Chicken flavor in a similar sized big cup. Whatever it is, let’s check it out!

Here are the side panels (click image to enlarge). Says it’s meat-free. Says to add 700ml boiling water and all the packets and cover for 4 minutes.

Here’s the lid detail (click image to enlarge).

An included fork!

The noodle block.

Powder soup base sachet.

Has a sweet beefy scent.

Liquid soup base sachet.

Has a nice meaty beef scent.

The solid ingredients sachet.

A smattering of veggies.

Finished (click image to enlarge). Added thin sliced beef and sweet onion that I sauteed. The noodles are thin and slightly weak of character, but not too bad. The broth is sweet and beefy and salty. It’s quite nice, actually! The veggies were meh. 3.75 out of 5.0 stars.

Here’s a track from the album mentioned above. Good stuff.

  1. You got the real deal. I found an Asian store near me that sold them but the sauce packet was powder instead of liquid like in China. I ate them all the time and was the first thing offered to me by my gf at the university my first night in China. You can buy them for 10-20 cents, and the asshats who arr selling them online are ripping people off. Shipping is expensive though and you need a permit to send food through the mail because I had to get one so my gf could mail them to me. There’s no way around it because they check your packages.

    1. Yeah I agree – what was interesting too was the 700ml of water it called for. I ate the noodles and my additions and dumped about 2 cups of water at least! Couldn’t do that much sodium to myself. Fear not – The Ramen Rater has scruples 🙂
