#834: Indomie Mi Goreng Kriuuk Pedas

Here’s another great one sent to me by my friend in Jakarta, Indonesia – thanks again! This is some really neat stuff – like Mi Goreng on steroids! Pedas means spicy! Extreme! Check it out.

The back of the package (click image to enlarge).

Here’s one of the larger chunks of the noodle block.

Hey! It’s seasoning powder.

Tasted it with my pinky – spicy stuff!

Three liquid packets – seasoned oil, chili sauce and finally, sweet soy sauce.

Here’s all of it – waiting for the stir!

One big packet…

…a ton of these awesome little crunchy bits as a garnish!

Finished (click image to enlarge). Added a fried egg with Krazy Mixed Up Salt, veggies, some roast beef and Dua Belibis. Noodles are great! Good chewiness and consistency. This one is definitely spicy as the name says! Keep a cold beverage on hand… The kriuuk is plentiful – lots of crunchy bits all throughout the dish; almost too many. If you like crunchy and spicy, this is the one for you! 3.75 out of 5.0 stars. UPC bar code 089686059779 .

Indomie Goreng Rendang TV commercial

Curious what this is about – anybody know? My guess is that people were making it wrong.

  1. The video is a news piece from Taiwan.
The seasonings of Indomie contain preservatives and benzoic acid, which in Taiwan can only be used in cosmetics and are banned in food. So the government informed all the shops to stop selling Indomie until test results come out. Indomie is popular among the Indoensian workers in Taiwan and tons of them were already consumed.
