#254: Vina Acecook Daily Instant Noodle Hot & Spicy Tom Yum

So on our very recent trip to a new Asian grocery, we found a lot of products by Vina Acecook. So there will be a few reviews by them coming at you fast and furious! First off, some Tom Yum! One thing real quick though – notice on the top of the package label where it says ‘Made With Japanese Technology?’ Didn’t find really anything about the Japanese technology anywhere but did find this sitting in a lonely corner of the web:

DEAR SIR OR MADAM
WE, VIFON-ACECOOK, IS ONE OF THE LEADING INSTANT NOODLES MANUFACTURERS IN VIETNAM. WITH MADE BY JAPANESE TECHNOLOGY, OUR PRODUCTS WILL OFFER YOU HIGH QUALITY AND REASONABLE PRICE. PLEASE FEEL FREE TO CONTACT US v. OR www.vifon-acecook.com FOR FURTHER INFORMATION.
WITH BEST REGARD,
TAN LE PHAT.

From top going clockwise, seasoned oil, powdered soup base, veggies and then paste soup base.

The colors here are very nice. I noticed right away that the veggies didn’t have your standard whiff but more of a herby smell like something you’d find in spaghetti. It was nice and refreshing.

Finished product (click image to enlarge). The noodles are very reminiscent of MAMA’s noodles. They’re seasoned on their own and can be eaten straight. The veggies are reasonably ample and very nice. The broth is perfect. I like how it wasn’t overly hot or overly lemony; it was a perfect balance of the two. Also, it didn’t seem as salty as other Tom Yum instant noodles. I’m going to say that this is the finest Tom Yum flavor instant noodle I’ve sampled yet and give it 4.0 out of 5.0 stars. Truly a pleasant surprise. Get it here.

  1. Hi!

My sister has been raving about these noodles and they no longer sell them at our local grocery stores. I found your site because I did a google search for them in hopes that I could find some online to order for her…. No luck yet :o(

I live in GA, do you know by chance where I can get my hands on a box?

    Thanks for your help!

    1. I would see if there are any HT Markets in your area as this is the only place I’ve seen it. We’ve got one called HT Oaktree. Also, you might want to friend The Ramen Rater on facebook and post something on the wall – someone might be able to steer you in the right direction as I’m in WA state. Also, there’s a forum on ramenrater.com that you could post something in and maybe someone would have some help for you there.
Finally, look at Vina Acecook’s website – send them an email and ask who the distributor is for the US east coast. then they can steer ya right to where they’re at!

      Good Luck!
      The Ramen Rater
