Click image to enlarge. A couple eggs. So eggs helped thicken up the broth and I liked that. Was expecting it to be spicier but it wasn’t spicy at all. Kind of a slimy affair. Not bad but I feel a little bleah now. 2.0 out of 5.0 stars.
Tried these for the first time today. I have to say…though i simply could not get the noodles to cooperate with chop sticks. They are very tender. However, after cross cutting them a few times, they became easily consumed with a spoon. These are kinda pleasing. Like the Campbel’s Chicken Noodle soup of Vietnam. I found them quite delicious with a healthy dose of kimchi furikake. it’s a warm your soul kind of bowl of noodles that even my youngest son would enjoy thoroughly. I’d give these a solid 3 out of 5.
hey no fair! i had the vifon pho ga packet tonight, and i thought it was better then the other pho ga’s that ive had like oh ricey and sunlee, but the packet didnt come with chili powder, and also the vegetables were less, and the oil wasnt so orange. i i really liked the flat rice noodles, and the broth was nice and tasty. i think i actually got the bowl version too, so ill have that one and compare. weird, i woulda thought it would be exactly the same except in a bowl with maybe a little more noodles. seems like a lot of brands make slight changes in their bowl/cup/packet varieties. gotta love the convenience of the bowls, though. no pot, no cleanup, free fork..but who can afford such luxuries all the time 🙂
I have to review everything I can get my hands on – cup, bowl, big bowl or package. You’re right – there are definitely little differences with the cups and the packages etc. The cup steeps then the noodles cook. The packages usually require noodles to boil in water for three minutes. If you did that with the noodles that come in a cup, they would fall apart as they’re more delicate.

I recently tried the Vifon Pho Ga, and I like them. I bought the ones in the packs, not in the bowl, but the ingredients look the same. They are more expensive than the instant ramen by Maruchan or Nissin (50 cents a pack instead of 6 for a dollar)–still, that’s pretty cheap), but I’ve been trying to find a substitute because the instant ramen are fried and have a high fat content, unlike the rice noodles. And I actually think the broth is pretty decent tasting pho broth (for instant noodles, that is)!
