#188: Nongshim Udon Japanese Style Noodle Soup

Seen this around for a long time but have never tried it.Always looked kinda plain and boring.

Liquid soup base, flake (veggies) and fresh udon packet.

So here’s the flake and the soup base. There’s a ton of each.

Here’s the done deal (click image to enlarge). The noodles are nice and chewy and very nice to eat. The broth is very tasty – a kind of soy and sweet thing going on with a bit of a fish essence. The ‘flake’ has some interesting stuff in it – I’m thinking some fried tofu and some other weirdities. In short, this was a nice surprise. I’m going to give it a 4.0 out of 5.0 stars. Everything here is just, well, nice and perfect. Get it here.

  1. This is my favourite out of all the Nong Shim varieties. Especially like the fresh udon noodles. If you like this one, also try their Sauteed Walrus flavour.. Really Good!!

  2. Just got a six pack of these from Costco in 9.73oz bowls. Quality of noodles was quite good. I’m not a big fan of fish sauce but was not strong enough to put me off,Could have used a little more dehyd vegs. With a little chicken or pork added it would have been enough for dinner(subjective of course)All and all a great 3 minute lunch!
