#4287: Annie Chun’s Korean Style Spicy Ramen Soup Bowl – United States

#4287: Annie Chun's Korean Style Spicy Ramen Soup Bowl - United States

It’s been a rough go for brands from the US I’ve not reviewed a ton of before. It really surprises me how many zero star scores I’ve given lately. I have a feeling (and hope) this one’s different. See where it says CJ Foods next to the Annie Chun’s logo? That’s a Korean company. If they’re making this line, I would think that they could make a great spicy Korean ramen. Then again I see corn is an ingredient which is very odd. Ah well – come on let’s give it a go! ...see full post

#4162: I'm E Choice For You Spicy Min Saeng Ramen - United States

I found this yesterday while looking for Lunar New Year specials at a big Asian grocery store. I immediately knew what I was looking at when I saw the font. These are from eMart. They’re a really big hypermarket chain in South Korea which now is opening stores in the United States. Now, this is a private label product, so one of the big companies in South Korea is making it for them . Not sure which one, but in the past it’s been Samyang. Let’s check it out! ...see full post

Buldak Corn Spicy Ramen Bread! #ramenbread

Yeah, after the last attempt at making bread out of South Korean instant noodles, I needed to explore further. Today, I’m going to infuse a loaf with a block of instant noodles, a can of corn, and chicken, and a wallop of sesame seeds! One thing to note – in the video I mention the dates this one will release on YouTube – I made a mistake. It’ll release on September 20th, and it will also release on December 24th – I thought it would on September 23rd. So, that was a mistake. Let’s take a trip down Corn Lane! ...see full post

#3926: Mamee Monster x Daebak Ghost Pepper Kari Lontong – Malaysia

#3988: Mamee Monster x Daebak Ghost Pepper Kari Lontong - Malaysia

Well, shoot… This is the last of the Mamee Ghost Pepper varieties I’ve got here. On one hand, I am breathing a sigh of relief – these have been spicy! But on the other, I do rather enjoy the whole concept of conquering a spicy noodle by eating the whole thing. Lontong is a kind of pressed rice tube/cake which in itself doesn’t have any flavor, but the sauce it comes with certainly does. I first encountered it with Mamee Chef’s Kari Lontong – a variety I thoroughly enjoy! Let’s give this one a try! ...see full post

The Ramen Rater's Top Ten Spiciest Instant Noodles Of All Time 2021 Edition

I’ve been enjoying spicy instant noodles for years now and these are some pretty lethally spicy ones. Personally, I go for savory over ultra spicy, but I certainly like a challenge and these bring that for sure. Got one you think is hotter but don’t see it here? Drop me a line. Also, check out Instant Noodles – The Ramen Rater group on Facebook – lots of great people in there talking about ramen from all over the world. #3047: Samyang Foods 10,000 SHU Hek Buldak Bokkeummyun (Nuclear Fire Noodle/2x) – South Korea

#3142: Samyang Foods 10,000 SHU Hek Buldak Bokkeummyun (Nuclear Fire Noodle/2x) - South Korea

Well, it finally happened. Samyang Foods originally released their 2x Spicy Buldak Bokkeummyun in South Korea a while back – for a limited time. In fact, it was supposed to be for a limited time everywhere. Well, it was in South Korea. But as of December 3rd, 2018 they brought it back. The original 2x was 8,706 SHU. This one is 10,000 SHU. This would then be 2.25x Spicy as the original version was 4,404 SHU. But one could round it up to 2.3, and if we’re rounding up I suppose one could round 2.3 up to 2.5. Regardless of how you look at it, it is indeed spicier. Let’s take a look! ...see full post

Unboxing: Culley’s World’s Hottest Ramen Noodles – New Zealand

Unboxing: Culley's World's Hottest Ramen Noodles - New Zealand

As you probably know, I come out with an annual top ten spiciest list. Well, this product claims to be the hottest – period. It’s made with the infamous Carolina Reaper Pepper – something I’ll admit I’ve not come in contact with. This is my first look at them and I take a little time to check out what comes in the box as well as the ingredients and some nutrition stats. ...see full post

Re-Review: Nissin Top Ramen Cucharealo Home-Style Tomato Chicken Flavor Ramen Noodle Soup

Thought I’d try this one again – it’s pretty sad – I have nothing new to review! Looking forward to some new varieties coming soon though hopefully! A couple from the UK have informed me that they’re sending a treasure trove of interesting varieties! Can’t wait! In the meantime, here’s the elusive Cucharealo – haven’t seen it for sale anywhere yet. Good stuff! Here’s the original review here. ...see full post

Re-Review: Paldo Namja Ramyun (Men’s Ramyun)

I have fallen ill with some kind of head cold it seems and I thought something spicy would be good. My lovely wife Kit was kind enough make me some noodles for breakfast – she’s so good to me! Thought I’d have these – they’re available in the US now, but this is a Re-Review of the pack that is sold in Korea. The version sold in the US will be being reviewed soon! Here’s the link to the original review I did during Paldo’s Meet The Manufacturer. ...see full post

Re-Review: Nongshim Jinjja Jinjja (Really Really) Ramyun

You’re probably wonder ‘gee, he sure reviews that Jinjja Jinjja quite a lot – what gives?’ Well, they sent me a lot of it and since I really like it, I want to enjoy it before it expires. Well, actually it expired in September, but I’m just about out of it. Here’s the last full review of it. ...see full post
