Yep – more of the fresh udon.

The white on you sprinkle on at the end – never have I tried this since it all looks to be dried veggies usually. Big liquid packet.

Also, the sprinkly bits have a little tempura in them – they get soggy immediately upon impact (I like mine crunchy) but it’s still a nicety. The noodles as always are decent and chewy. The broth on this one reminds me more of something a Japanese company like Myojo puts out. All in all pretty good – 3.5 out of 5.0 stars. UPC barcode 8801085067528 .

It snowed today.

#632: Mr. Udon Oriental Udon Noodle Japanese Miso

Mr. Udon, I presume? I was looking in the fridge yesterday putting groceries away. A couple sodas wouldn’t fit – something was blocking them. Two packs of Mr. Udon noodles  that I got early lasrt year. Hmmm… I wondered if they were still good – May 2012 exclaimed the expiration date! So let’s give this stuff a try before it goes bad!

Ah the ubiquitous Mr. Udon fresh noodle pack!

Powder on the left, veg on the right.

Looks interesting…

Finished (click image to enlarge). Good noodles – chewy and fresh. Broth is very light. Of this bowl I would call it rather bland and missing something. The miso flavor is so faint and inauthentic, too. It’s good stuff, just a little on the weaker side. 2.75 out of 5.0 stars. UPC barcode 8801085067559

#477: Mr. Udon Oriental Udon Noodle Malaysian Beef Flavor Artificially Flavored

One of four packs I got at a Big Lots store. Pretty cheap too.

Two packets – powdered seasoning and ‘dried flake’ – veggies.

Powder on the left and a menage of all sorts of interesting bits ‘n’pieces on the right. fried starch, dried green onion and dried laver [seaweed].

Some dudes hangin at the Big Lots.

A buddhist wedding.

#444: Mr. Udon Oriental Udon Noodle Oriental Chicken Flavor Artificially Flavored

So here’s something new – Mr. Udon! These came from a Big Lots store north of here – was rather surprised to see it honestly. So let’s give ‘er a try!

Wow – crazy packets! The silver powder packet’s huge!

So powder and dry stuff… Looks interesting!

Click image to enlarge. Added two eggs to the boiling noodles. So first thing I’m noticing is that this chicken stuff tastes more like onion. The noodles are nice and chewy and thick. The broth is warming and hearty but yeah – very onion. I do like it – 3.25 out of 5.0 stars.

Hey look – I’m apparently not the only one who’s seen it in Big Lots!

They had a ton of Star Trek movie toys at one point!
