#2263: Sichuan Baijia Broad Noodle Artificial Beef Flavor Hot Pot

When it says these are broad noodles, its definitely not an understatement. I’ve had mixed feelings about the offerings from this brand in the past – let’s see how this one pans out!

Here is the distributor’s sticker (click to enlarge).

Detail of the side panels (click to enlarge). Looks to be meat free but check for yourself. To prepare, add everything to the cup and fill to line with boiling water. Let steep for 5 minutes. Stir and enjoy!

An included fork!

The noodle block – see, I told you they were really broad!

The dry base sachet.

When pouring this out of the sachet into the little bowl, the powder was so light and fine that it almost looked like a little bit of vapor came off of it.

A liquid base sachet.

Has a kind of beef scent – I think I detect Sichuan pepper as well.

Finished (click to enlarge). Added Salad Cosmo mung bean sprouts, coriander, spring onion, beef and chilli flake. The noodles are ultra broad – insanely so! I really like the noodles; they have a bit of chew to them and work well with the broth. The broth has a beef and Sichuan pepper hit along with a good oiliness. The included vegetable bits were pretty good too – the peas mostly hydrated very well – only found one that was a little iffy. 4.25 out of 5.0 stars EAN bar code 6926410320252.

  1. I loved the noodles in this. I put in 1/10th of the liquid sachet – if that – and it was already too spicy for me so i diluted with water and then added a little salt in. Was perfect. Very tasty. I’ll use the rest of the liquid sachet for other flat rice noodles i have.

Mine had a sachet of pickled kelp in it too which was nice.
