#1716: MAMA Instant Noodles Egg Protein Noodles

Here’s one the folks at Thai President Foods in Thailand sent. It’s made in their factory in Myanmar – and everything on it for the most part is in Burmese! These can be a little tricky; especially when the system of writing numerals is different. But rest assured, I have a solution!

I found this neat little chart online and it was quite helpful. See, on the back of every instant noodle pack (except some Chinese varieties which makes me upset) are two sets of numbers: the first stating the amount of water to be used and the second being how long to cook or steep. What’s also handy are the little pictograms showing the cooking process. Anyways, let’s check out this interesting one out!

Here’s the back of the package (click image to enlarge). Contains egg. To prepare, add 300ml boiling water and contents of sachet to a bowl. Cover and steep for 3 minutes. Stir and enjoy! Alternately, you can cook it with the same amount of water on a stove for 2 minutes.

The noodle block.

The dry seasonings sachet.

Has a kind of salty and spicy scent to it.

An oil sachet.

Palm oil I’m guessing.

Finished (click image to enlarge). Added eggs scrambled with a little coriander and chilli powder on top. The noodles were thin and light – good gauge, light chew. The broth was interesting; a hint of spiciness, then saltiness. Not sure what flavor you’d call it, but it was pretty good! 3.5 out of 5.0 stars. EAN bar code 8895101100092.

Probably the most well-known MAMA instant – MAMA Instant Noodle, Tom Yum Shrimp Spicy Flavor, 3.17 Ounce (Pack of 20)

Wow – this place Myanmar looks like quite the amazing destination!
