2015 Birthday Trip To Canada

For the last three years, we’ve been hopping in the car and heading up north to Canada for my birthday. There are a lot of varieties of instant noodles that aren’t easily found down here and usually I bring back all sorts of new and interesting things. This year my son Andy and my sister Sue joined us for the trip! Let’s go!

Was hoping to get our passport books stamped, but I guess since we were only there for the afternoon they didn’t. They asked us a couple times if we had firearms, mace or pepper spray.

As per usual, the first stop was PriceSmart Foods in Richmond. All the places we usually hit are in Richmond, BC.

Gotta love signs like this!

Kit found a can of Hello Kitty pasta! I found some pretty good varieties of instant noodles, too!

Next stop was Yaohan Centre, basically a large mall.

1000-3700 No. 3 Rd
Richmond, B.C. V6X 3X2
Canada

Osaka Market is in there, which is basically a T&T Supermarket with a different name.

The noodle aisle!

Here’s a Prima Taste display from a while back – note the top ten list reference in the top right.

Next stop: Kuo Hua Trading Company…

Richmond, BC V6X 2C3
Canada

Last year, I found a ton of great stuff here  – and this year was pretty great, too.

They had a zillion boxes of A-Sha Dry Noodles here!

All instant noodles.

The final stop was Fujiya Japanese Foods.

Unfortunately, they hadn’t anything that I’d not reviewed.

All said and done, here’s the haul of instant noodles (click image to enlarge). Since the first year, the new varieties have been dwindling, and maybe next year we’ll do something else. Seems like a long trip for 13 pakcs/cups/bowls of instant noodles. It was fun to have everyone along for the trip! Thanks for an awesome birthday!

Products cooked according to package instructions. Product reviews done prior to adding any additional ingredients.

hey man, nice haul. Next time you should also check out dollar smart in Richmond. It’s a dollar store that specializes in Filipino products. They have quite a few varieties of instant noodles as well.
