#1559: Master Kong Spicy Beef Flavor Instant Noodle

Another one sent to me by a nice reader in Sweden – thanks! I thought today would be great for some spicy beef noodles from China. It just sounded good for some reason. I’ve got a sore tooth which is driving me crazy… Dunno why but spicy beef noodles from China just sound nice. Anyways, let’s dig in!

Here’s the back of the package (click image to enlarge). Not sure if it contains meat. As preparation instructions aren’t included, I’m going with 500ml water for 3 minutes (cooking) and adding in vegetable sachet during cooking, then sachet contents at the end and stirring.

The noodle block.

A powdered soup base sachet.

a very light powder.

A seasoned paste sachet.

Has an oily and dark appearance.

The vegetables sachet.

A nice little mixture.

Finished (click image to enlarge). Added coriander, mung bean sprouts, and beef and sweet onion sauteed with a little ВКУСНАЯ СОЛЬ ЙОДИРОВАННАЯ – my sister got this stuff for me – it’s called ‘tasty salt for the first course.’  The noodles are broad and flat and a little thick. They have an enjoyable chew to them. The broth is great – a definitely spicy kind of braised beef taste. The heat isn’t overwhelming but just the right amount. The vegetables hydrated well, although they were a little on the small size side. 4.0 out of 5.0 stars. EAN bar code 6900873710362.

Here’s Master Kong’s Braised Beef big cup – this is excellent stuff!

  1. AHHH! This is my favorite noodle of all time. But I can’t find it anywhere anymore physically or online. Also they constantly change their packaging over the 15 years I’ve been eating them in the US. The noodles I fondly referred to as “death noodles” for their 98% sodium content… is gone from the US Asian Market. 🙁 . Also love the blog!!! Finding a lot of new brands to check out!
