Re-Review: Ottogi Bekse Curry Myon

I’ve had a hankering to re-review this one since I had the cup version and really liked it. Made me think maybe I was a little tough on this one when I reviewed it as #121. But now I’m looking through the archives and I gave it a 3.5/5.0 stars, which isn’t bad, then I re-reviewed it and gave it 3.5/5.0 again. Funny, I didn’t think I’d re-reviewed this one… Well, I guess it’s a re-re-revie; I already took the pictures of everything, right? Let’s give this one another peek.

Here’s the back of the package (click image to enlarge). Contains beef.

The noodle block – really thick noodles.

The powder base sachet.

Mmm – curry smell!

The solid ingredient (vegetable) sachet.

Peas in there. Potatoes too! Potatoes!

Finished (click image to enlarge). Added beef, Walla Walla sweet onion, peas and carrots. The noodles are pretty thick and a little extra chewy. They have a kind of ‘gooey-ness’ to them that is really nice. The broth has a great curry taste. Would have been nice to see a bit more in the veggie pack – more potatoes especially. Very satisfying – worthy of 4.0 out of 5.0 stars. UPC bar code 645175523376.

They not only have this as a noodle, but they also have curry mixes for different uses. I’ve seen large pouches of premixed curry sauces at my local Korean grocery – makes me curious…

  1. I had a pack of these sitting in my cupboard for some time now and I just got around to eating them today after I was having a serious hankering for some ramen. OMG, they are seriously delicious! Definitely in my all time top 5 favorite ramen. Too bad I can’t remember where I bought them!
