#461: Samyang Sutah Ramen Hot & Spicy Beef Flavor

Been meaning to try and review this one for a while and today seems like a good day to do it. I’m a little confused about this one; I looked up Sutah and couldn’t find anything about the word on Google or Wikipedia… Found plenty of Korean BBQ restaurant links but nothing saying what Sutah might mean. Hmm. Well, let’s get to it.

So two packets. This is pretty much the deal with packaged ramen by Paldo and Samyang when in comes in a form like this. Usually they have the same colors too… Hmm… Veggies on left, soup base on right.

There’s the powder on the left and veggies on the right. A lot of both, that’s for certain.

I’m adding two eggs while the noodles cook – I even included a video here.

Click image to enlarge. Here’s the finished product. The noodles are hearty – lots of them and nice and thick. The broth has a nice color and hearty with an angry and fiercely happy burn to it. The vegetables are perfectly ample although a couple pieces never re-hydrated well enough, even at the bottom of the bowl… Hmm. All in all, a good breakfast – I give it 3.5 out of 5.0 stars.

  1. I love all the hot ones, but this gives me the, uh, have to go the bathroom a lot,2-6 hours later. It’s good anyway. Maybe caused by method of cooking, and I never ad anything.

  2. sutah is a word formed with chinese letters.
if translated, it literally means ‘hit by hands,’ which implies that the
noodle is produced manually by hands.
but thats not, of course, technically true in this case for its noodle is
produced by machines. the company just wants to emphasize its noodle’s
quality, thats all. hope this can help you 🙂

  3. I just tried this one today at work. I loved the heat that this soup provided and unlike other hot ramen, it didn’t kill the taste. The noodle however have got to be some of my favorite though as there are tons for the price of a buck. Thank you for your site!
